The Role
When I first applied for this position I wasn't very confident I would be offered this internship, especially considering I don't have any previous experience in this field. I can only say it has been amazing, the people are amazing and I made friends with them very quickly, the job was presented very nicely and the training was easy to understand, day-to-day doesn't feel monotonous and you are challenged in many ways making sure you are comfortable. If I ever had any issues I know there is someone I can approach easily and would be more than happy to help.
Everyone at first tried to make me feel comfortable, made me feel included be it by asking my opinion on some decisions or by offering a cup of tea during the shift. If I made any mistake, I was made aware of in a discreet way which is very considerate, as well as in a polite manner. We like to banter, making time pass quickly every day and overall enjoying the good vibes around.
During training we were given little folders with information if we needed to consult anything, apart from the presentations and activities to help understand everything better. While on the floor, feedback is something daily and treated individually per person, but never with malicious intention - it is very clear it's for the sake of quality and as we are aware of the importance of our mistakes, the managers are always there if you need to ask them a question. Be sure they will remind you. Every day.
Always busy, very busy, but not too much. Workloads are manageable and reasonable, although I found myself sometimes in a position where I wasn't able to finish my bit or finished too early and didn't know what to do. It happened near the end of shift, so it wasn't much more than 40 minutes, but I just had to ask my team leader and it was solved.
I wouldn't say "I was running the show". I was responsible for my workload, everyday I would learn how to do something new and was responsible for that... I did get the task to record the calls every hour for the whole team, but nobody checks it as far as I'm aware of.
This opportunity is door opening because it provided me with my first experience in office environment. I learned how to be more professional and keep my cool in more situations, as well as handle difficult cases and customer-service-related issues. Time managing and organisation have improved as well thanks to working on deadlines, which I have never done before.
The Company
You can hear people laughing every now and then in the background, everyone interacts with each other, we do lunches together and for Xmas we got pizza for the whole office! I made friends here which I know I'll keep for a long time, maybe even people I'll work with on other projects outside of REED.
Mostly everything was clear from the start, excepting for getting placed in the team. I was told I would work on the Lloyds contract, but for the first month I had to work with Santander/HSBC because my screening wasn't completed and the workload on Lloyds wasn't big enough to take another person at the moment, which I was not made aware of until after I was finally moved to the Lloyds team.
I think they invested a reasonable amount of time, they were very patient in some cases and very understanding. I appreciate every moment I spent here and I wish I could stay.

After my manager told me she is very happy with what I'm doing and that she wants to train me on more things so I stay, I cannot hold my excitement to officially be a perm and stay here for a good couple. To be fair, it's been months but it feels like I've been here 3 days.
The Culture
We all got along quite fast, we got to know each other a bit and hang out after work for drinks!
Very easy, it is the city's centre after all. It can be a bit expensive in some shops, but we have a Tesco around the corner with some fantastic meal deals, a fish and chips shop just on the other street and a McDonald's in front of us, apart from 5 cafeterias in case you just want a good brownie.
Not far off there are quite big clubs, the Christmas Party was in a nice venue because of that. Loads of people around, different music styles to choose from, can't complain, but to be honest I'm not the kind of person that goes out very often to that kind of things.
We had the Christmas Party officially, but nothing else was organised by the company itself. People here are very sociable so we usually do things in groups. We went ice-skating, for some drinks and played some videogames as well a couple of times.
