    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my time with Pwc during the insight. There was always a lot of things to be doing and we were always having a great time with the staff ensuring that we were never bored or without work at any point which really made the whole experience really fun.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I really felt valued because we were always looked after during the time I was working with the company. We were always made to feel really special to be selected to join rather than just strangers to the company since we were only there for a week and a half .

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • It was fantastic, because we were able to shadow one woman each so they were told before hand that we were coming and therefore they were more prepared to have us so they were always there to look after us and guide us if we needed any help and gave us task to do.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think it will really help me in my degree studies because it has given me a dream to aim for and make me understand what I am studying for. It has also helped me to put what I am learning into practice since it can be confusing to do an audit but it makes you understand the whole reality of what you're actually doing.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was really well structured. For three days we were shadowing a lady in the office and then the other days of the week we were presenting and researching and everything was always very organised so that we would be in the right place at the right time and everything was always on time.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone was so very kind. We did get some odd looks our way but only because we were much younger than the staff there but everyone we spoke to was very accommodating and let us know how special and talented we were and they were very nice inviting us to lunch .

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested into us a lot because there was a lot of staff working with us and ensuring that we were okay and they also provided lunch and pre-training for us before we got to the company which made it much more helpful and easier when we got there and we could tell they really cared that we would actually learn something at the end of the week and that we would leave understanding a lot.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I understood what goes in to different roles of the company but I don't quite know too much In depth like the ins and outs of the company purely because I am too young and potentially not as smart to under stand the full difficult things that go into the work.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight really helped me to understand the company culture because it taught me how colleagues and staff interact with one another and what they do after the work day is over because they sometimes go to the pub or restaurants and sometimes they have weeks where they have sports Friday.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • it was incredibly and hugely valuable because now I understand what I need to work towards to get my qualification and what is needed to become a chartered accountant. This has also helped me to rule out some other work fields that I was looking in to doing but now has helped me to narrow down my options.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid £300 for the week and reimbursed for the travel that I made to getting to the office. However, not everyone was reimbursed for the transport of getting to the office because it depends on the mode of transport that you use to get there but we were not given lunch expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There was opportunities to network with other employees because when my partner knew that she would be busy one afternoon she would set up many little meetings with other partners and people in the company so that I could understand what other people do in consulting, tax, finance and different sectors.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking opportunities were really good because they had a lot of diverse people and also helped us to get unbiased different opinions on different sectors of the firm and how two people can have completely different experiences because everyone ahs a completely different outlook on the company to each other .

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes , we learned a lot about the social activities and we were also invited to go on a few but they also had different things like skydiving, mountain climbing and business days off which really helped me to see what I could possibly do in the future and be included in.
