The Role
Intel is a great place to do an internship. The work ethic, benefits and people who work here make it a good environment to do some time in a big company if it's your first time.
I feel I have been able to make decisions that have added value and I haven't been treated as just an "intern".
The support structure for interns has been well thought out. Regular meetings with managers and team members allow you to discuss your progress and clarify issues.
It is extremely varied. Throughout the quarter project activity is spread out so flexibility with working hours is sometimes necessary.
I was given full responsibility of the supply chain management of 3 product groups in my first role. In my second role, I have the opportunity to take over an account such as John Lewis and I'm running an event hosted by Intel aimed at some of the UK's retail CEO's.
I have been given the opportunity to do two jobs in completely different departments of the organisation. By dong this, I have managed to add an extra skill-set gained from the placement. On top of this their is compulsory training for the first month.
The Company
Good team structure, everyone is social and willing to get involved with social activities. All the team are approachable and easy to talk to.
Very well organised. The switch over with the previous interns ensures everything in training goes as smooth as possible
The company invests a huge amount of money on the internship programme. There are a lot of compulsory training modules taught at the beginning.

There are definitely opportunities in the operations department, however future prospects within the sales and marketing department are not great as they don't usually hire back.
The Culture
There's always something going on with 60 other interns.
Cost of living is relatively cheap - around £320. Cost of socialising is a lot more reasonable than big towns.
Not great, just one main club we go to. But with 60 other interns you can make what you want.
With a site wide sports and social club, there are lots of events/gig tickets on sale at good prices.
