About You
Discover EY was a very organised virtual event. It gave me a great opportunity to learn more about EY and Tax. I was able to pick up extremely valuable advice on how to perform at the summer internship and how to develop key skills. The highlight for me was the panel session as it gave me a true insight on what it is like to work in Tax at EY.
I felt extremely valued and included during the virtual event. Despite it being a virtual event all of us were included in the discussions and were able to constantly ask questions. This allowed us to get a better insight into EY. Many thought provoking areas were discussed where we were all required to reflect upon ourselves and engage in an open discussion about our experiences.
I received a lot of guidance and support during Discover EY. I gained a great insight into many diverse sectors of Tax allowing me to learn more about what I would be looking forward to in a career in tax. I also gained a lot of valuable advice on how to stand out and perform well in the summer internship.
A lot of information was shared on how to build confidence and resilience which is a key skill that will greatly assist me in every aspect of the future. I gained a lot of information on the different sectors in Tax for example the difference between direct and indirect tax which will enable me to make a well informed decision regarding my career choices.
The Company
The insight was very well structured and all the events were interlinked allowing us to draw parallels between the different information we received. The well structured event allowed me to capture important information easily. There were well timed comfort breaks allowing me to reflect upon the valuable information I received.
Even though the event was virtual, the comments from the EY staff made the atmosphere sound very welcoming. One thing which particularly stood out to me was EY's hot desk policy. This policy gives you a great opportunity to extend your network and get to know different people within the team regardless of their level.
The insight was extremely helpful and allowed me to greatly understand the company's culture. I was intrigued to learn about how diverse EY is and some of their future targets. For example one of their new public targets is to double the proportion of female talent in the UK partnership to 40% by July 2025.
I gained a great insight into many diverse sectors of Tax and how they work for example I learnt about the differences in the roles of direct and indirect Tax employees. This will enable me to make well informed decisions regarding my future career choices/paths. I also learnt more about what I would be looking forward to in a career in Tax.
Everything Else
It was a virtual event therefore I did not incur any expenses.
Despite it being a virtual event I got the opportunity to hear from many employees of EY all at different levels. There were many different employees ranging from partners, senior managers to new graduates who were once in my position. This gave us an insight into what we could achieve through Discover EY.
I would highly recommend this insight to a friend. It was a wonderful opportunity to develop key skills and expand my network. I gained a deep insight into EY and Tax which will greatly assist me in future career decisions. Discover EY was an incredibly helpful event and therefore I would definitely recommend it to friends.
