About You
I enjoyed this insight program a great deal because of the variety and depth of the sessions offered. The main event, a panel consisting of speakers from EY, was particularly interesting as an opportunity to gain more insight into the different roles EY offers. I also appreciated the helpful tips on personal branding and starting my career.
I felt valued to the extent that the event went on as an online event, as opposed to it being cancelled completely. I found this solution very innovating, and I felt like EY did its best to adapt to the challenging situation during this pandemic. We were given plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
I received much guidance and support on my future career, personal branding, and advice on future assessment centers. I felt supported during the session with regards to opportunities to ask questions. I also received guidance on our next steps, which were explained in great detail with regards to internships and summer placements.
I developed skills such as how to position myself better with reference to strengths and areas of development, how to think strategically about my future career, and overall a much more holistic understanding about this industry. This will greatly assist me in planning for my future career and which paths I may wish to take.
The Company
This insight was well structured, with a clear agenda provided at the start of the program. We started off with clear introductory sessions, followed by a main panel where we had the chance to interact with the speakers. We also had skills building sessions, and I enjoyed the extra information programs like the Women's Network.
The general atmosphere during my insight was very supportive and positive. Everyone here was very cooperative and supportive, and everyone was focused on delivering the best atmosphere as possible for everybody. The panelists were very receptive to our multiple questions, and those who participated in the insight were keen in networking with each other.
The company reiterated that it would like to see us join their future programs such as EY's Summer Internship program. In terms of personal training and development, the interaction was understandably limited by the online nature of the session, due to the current pandemic. Regardless, EY was truly interested in providing us with development advice.
EY helped me understand what it was like to have a full time role with the company by presenting sessions such as the main panel and introductory speeches. The great women of EY provided us with an honest, transparent view of what it was like to work with EY, and outlined the career paths they had taken.
This insight was extremely helpful in understanding company culture, by allowing us to hear from people directly working within EY. They spoke candidly about the company culture, and the perception of EY more broadly within the industry. The session on Diversity and Inclusion also reinforced EY's commitment to building a positive working culture.
The content was valuable in terms of helping me decide on my future career path, due to the amount and depth of information provided to me about EY and its consulting team. I was given a clear insight into what various consultants do in EY, and this included a broad range of different teams.
Everything Else
No expenses incurred.
Whilst there were opportunities to meet a number of employees in EY, and we were encouraged to network further with those who spoke on LinkedIn, other interaction was understandably limited by the online nature of the session. Of course, the online nature was necessary given current conditions EY was facing.
The day proceeded on Microsoft Teams, and participants used the chat function extensively to network. This allowed us to connect to each other via LinkedIn, so there were networking and social event opportunities in this sense. We were also encouraged to ask questions to the speakers, and add them on LinkedIn.
The sessions were primarily focused on the nature and scope of work within EY, as this was the main focus on the program- insight into EY. However, we heard about other activities such as the Women's Network that supports female employees.
I would recommend this insight to a friend. This Discover EY Women in Consulting insight program was very educational, insightful, and enjoyable. It was a great pleasure to listen to the various great speakers lined up for us, as well as to ask them questions. It was interesting to hear more about consultancy about EY.
