    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The women in business insights day at EY was a great way to learn more about not only the company, its culture but also how the industry works in general. I have really enjoyed each sessions and experiences sharing throughout the day as well as the panel session given out by a range of experts in the field. I would strongly suggest it to everyone interested in a career in consulting!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Even tho this is a virtual event due to the Covid-19 outbreak, EY has still managed to pull together this online insight day in such a short time. Throughout the event, they have given us valuable advices on how we could improve ourselves in the workplace or life in general. Embracing our own confidences and identity. I certainly felt welcome and engaged throughout the event.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The day was planned with a clear agenda, all candidates were engaged actively even tho an online chat box and we have been able to ask questions to speakers, and of course they were all being answered clearly. I felt very supported, and useful guidance provided during the whole day.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the information I have learned during the insights event at Women in business in EY will help me a lot with my studies going forward. Not only help developing my practical skills but also interpersonal skills, such as networking and identifying my strength and weakness, furthermore how to improve these areas.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight day was very professional and well structured - the host was a very good presenter and she made us all feel very welcome. Candidates were engaged with a very interactive throughout the Q&A sessions and throughout the day there were a variety of speakers presenting the company’s operations and their own experiences. I feel the event provides me with a good mix of new knowledge and skills.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we weren't able to do the event in person so I can't speak for the actual atmosphere at the office. But, for the virtual event, everything were able to run smoothly and all presenters were very supportive and insightful in giving us advices and sharing their experiences. In general, they are all very supportive.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There's definitely a lot of effort put in to host such event, it's a shame that it couldn't be done in it's original format. But it surely took the team quite some resources to pull together this virtual insight networking day, having everything on board at home from 9- 3pm.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insights day really provided me with some useful insights about the working environment at EY looks like and helped to learn more about the potential career opportunities at consulting division within the company. In general, I would everyone at EY seems to be very approachable and the key thing is the real drive they give to be yourself.

  • The insights day helped to learn more about EY diverse and inclusiveness working culture. They embrace variety and women working in such industry. Moreover, throughout your career at EY, they give continuing training for each worker to excel in their work. Most importantly, getting support from everyone around you: peers, seniors, buddy...

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I think the content of the day truly provided me with better insights of what a career in each division in consulting does. Especial how each division nowadays combine technology to develop working models to give creative solutions to their clients. Also, providing me a clear insight on what specifically could be done to help in succeeding in my desired career.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was not paid or reimbursed expenses, this is only an insight day into the company, the consulting industry and EY's working culture. As participant, we are not paid in any form, especially this is an virtual event, there are also no kind of sponsoring in transportation or hotel. But If i remember correctly, if the event was hold in their london office they do give out sponsoring.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Once again due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we weren't able to do the event in person so I can't speak for the real person networking session at the office. But throughout the virtual event, we were all surely very engaging and active. We as candidate also managed to add each others on linkedin to keep in touch. And the company has given us their emails and contacts for networking purposes too.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • EY especially focus on embracing the women culture, they showed us a list of networking event within the company and also externally. For example there were pictures showing the international women day they held in march. It seems lovely and lively, and I am very sure the working environment in EY is friendly and supportive as well.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight programme to a friend, it provides me additional information about the industry, the company, and it's working culture, which i believe would benefit me alot in my performance on the assessment day. Moreover, we were given the opportunity and contacts to network with the presenter outside of the program.
