About You
I really enjoyed the insight, I thought that it was adapted to a virtual setting very well and was very well structured. The staff at EY, especially the recruitment staff, seem to really care about everyone on the programme and a lot of very useful advice was shared about progression on careers at EY.
I felt very valued during my time at the firm, there were lots of opportunities to ask questions to the employees and each session was centred around giving us information we can use and absorb.
We received a lot of guidance and support, a lot of information was passed onto us and there was a whole session dedicated to the next steps at EY with top tips and places to find more information. We had the opportunity to answer questions in all sessions which was very useful.
The skills developed included learning about your strengths and having more confidence in yourself. The skills developed would be more helpful beyond your degree in your later career. Learning about your strengths and areas of development which was one of the sessions would be important in your degree and how best you learn.
The Company
The insight was extremely well structured and the structure was kept to by the minute throughout the day. We received an outline of the timetable at the beginning of the day and the way it was split into sessions of 20-30 minute meant that it was easy to concentrate for short periods of time and therefore the information was well communicated.
The general atmosphere was really good during the insight despite it being online. Although it would have been nice to get to know the other women on the course there was still a very inclusive spirit on the chat and the recruiters seemed to really care about each student on the program.
The company invests in you through being able to answer any questions.
Yes, the panel session meant we could ask 5 women a lot of questions about their roles within the company, their advice to their younger selves, their career journeys. To add to this, we heard from women in all different parts of the Transaction line of the business maximising our knowledge.
The culture is all about people and it was made very clear that it was a very welcoming culture. The Women's Network session and hearing from lots of the senior employees made it clear that it was a company with a good culture and environment which welcomes people of all backgrounds.
Very valuable. A lot of different women explained their career paths and the different parts of transactions was made clear. It was especially appealing that there is an opportunity to be fast-tracked for an internship. It is nice that there are so many different career options within one service line.
Everything Else
The event was online due to covid-19 so N/A
Yes but obviously due to constraints of being a virtual event this was not really possible within the day.
Hard due to being a virtual event however questions were asked and answered.
Yes there was a whole session on the EY Women's Network which was very interesting to hear about.
Yes definitely especially the opportunities it gives you being fast tracked to an internship, this insight day potentially allows a graduate job opportunity.
