    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the Spring Insight Programme for 3 reasons. Firstly, I was able to discover in more detail Nomura, its different divisions and its corporate culture. Then, the Programme is well-structured, with presentations, case studies, interactive games, debate mate and excel training. I found each part really interesting and I learned a lot. Finally, my classmates were kind and friendly, I really spend three amazing days.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued during my Spring Insight Programme at Nomura, because the firm's representatives always complimented and encouraged us. We were able to ask our questions, without feeling that they are stupid. Besides, the fact that my classmates are highly committed, intelligent and talented, makes me felt valued during my Insight.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance and support during my Spring Insight Programme at Nomura. Indeed, we are guided during the whole programme in addition to the booklet. Nomura's representatives are very humble and helpful, and answered to all of our questions about their career, Investment Banking and the recruiting process. • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed my communication skills thanks to Debate Mate, I know my strengths and weaknesses, so I can improve myself. The personal feedback from investment bankers and the information I received assist me in my degree studies and beyond, as I am convinced that I want to pursue a career in Investment Banking and have the tips to get into this field.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The Programme is well-structured, alternating presentations, case studies, interactive games, debate mate and excel training. I found each part really interesting and I learned a lot. The Programme involves hard skills and soft skills. At any time, I felt the course is boring and long, which is really great.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere during the insight is really great. My classmates were extremely kind and comprehensive, I really spend three amazing days. As we had some group tasks to do, we were able to brainstorm and work together. We also created a WhatsApp group so we can keep in touch. • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development, the company invests in spring interns and me, because they not only pay us, but provide us the opportunity to have a summer internship. Nomura invests a lot in us because instead of cancelling the Spring Programme, they organised a virtual one in a short time.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The Spring insight programme helps me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company, because we were able to have different investment bankers' personal feedback on their career, daily life and experience. We were also attributed a buddy mate, so that we can ask her questions.

  • The Spring insight programme helps me to understand the company culture, because through different investment bankers' personal feedback, we can feel and understand the company culture. Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Unfortunately opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm were not possible because of the COVID-19, as the Spring insight programme was completed virtually. However, I spend three amazing days with the employees of the company. I think that if Nomura can organise a follow-up event, it could be great!

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Unfortunately networking and social event opportunities are limited, in particular in France. However, I had the opportunity to participate in the "2019 Inspiring Women In Banking" in London, which is my first contact with Nomura and I really enjoyed it. Thus, I would be happy if more networking and social event opportunities are organised.
