The Role
I really enjoyed my time at SAP. It was a great experience in a great organisation. I was given alot of responsibility as well as feeling like part of a great team dynamic. SAP's culture is very innovative and forward thinking. I would highly suggest applying for SAP's Placement Programme.
As part of my team, i felt valued on daily basis. I had a lot of responsibility to get my work done and to a good standard. This allowed me to be creative and take a new approach to the situations given to me. My colleagues treated me like a full time employee and i feel i exceeded because of this.
From day one, it was clear we had a large amount of guidance and support. The steerco were always around to help as well as having a buddy and a manager present in the office. I would have weekly check-ins with my buddy and bi-weekly meetings with my manager. We were also given questionnaires to fill out throughout our time at SAP.
My day to day tasks fluctuated dependent on the time of year. When i first started, i hit the ground running and didnt stop until March time. I enjoyed this because it was a challenge and it through me in at the deep end into a real job. At quieter times, i was able to shadow other areas of the business.
In my job, i had a great amount of responsibility. I was trusted hire for the academy as well as the Interns. This meant doing all the background work and logistics as well as running the days themselves. This meant i had a great amount of fulfillment from my job.
The skills you develop working in a work environment like SAP will last a lifetime. I have learnt the basics of how to conduct myself in an office environment all the way to how to run an Assessment Day. I also developed skills through the training programmes put on by SAP for interns.
The Company
The atmosphere at the office was great. The culture is laid back but busy. I think the amenities at SAP made it this way as you had formal business meetings as well as casual networking in the subsidised coffee area. The business of the office would fluctuate which helped with networking and also made it a great working environment.
The steerco were organised from the get go. We starting with 2 weeks onboarding as well as shadowing with out team. We then had the opportunity to do training throughout our time at SAP. They did a quarterly survey to ensure we were happy and if there was anything they could do to enhance our time at SAP.
Our buddies and managers did development pieces with us to ensure we were getting the most out of our time at SAP. We also could talk about future plans to come back to SAP as well as what i could do to enhance my chances of returning as a full time employee or part time during University.

The idea of future employment was very appealing. I would love to come back and work for SAP. I see a lot of development opportunities at SAP and feel my career could develop well there. There is also opportunity to come back Part time during university studies. SAP also does a Sales and PreSales Academy.
The Culture
Because there was over 70 of us in our cohort, we had no issues always having someone to go out and socialise with. Predominately, socialsiing was done in Richmond or Clapham Junction. This was easy to get to the office from as we have a free bus service and then one train which can do all the way to Waterloo.
The cost of living and socialising depends on your personal tastes. I lived 30 minute drive from work and paid a fair price rent. Because we get a good salary, i still had over half of my salary left. Socialising is the same, it depends on your taste. We would usually go to either a Revs or Wetherspoons so has cheaper options.
Nightlife in London is obviously very known for being good. Because of the easy access with the train, we were able to go out in Victoria as well as Putney and lots of other areas. We went out for evvents such as Halloween and birthdays and never fell short of a good night.
SAP has outside of work sports teams such as football. The football team train and play most weeks as well as having the opportunity to go to Germany to play against other SAP teams. You can also set up your own sports team if you would like to such as netball/hockey.
