The Role
The internship programme at Oracle is great. There are around 50 of us and there's a great sense of community. I've learnt so much and been exposed to so many good opportunities.
I've had the opportunity to work with a really great team, that have shown and taught me so much over the last year.
I got fast responses when emailing my manager and I had a great mentor who was really helpful with advise. My team were always there to answer my questions too.
As with every role there are always busier and quieter days, but as a general rule I was normally very busy with my role.
I got given a lot of responsibility, and the projects where i was given more responsibility were the projects i learnt the most from.
When I joined Oracle, I was a complete newbie to the world of work in a corporate setting, and now i can come away with so much knowledge as to how my role works and their importance in the company.
The Company
It was good because there are plenty of interns wondering around that are all in the same boat as you. Very hardworking atmosphere. A lot of people choose to work from home so communicating remotely is normal for my role.
Very well organized. The internship programme is really impressive. HR sorted us starting and we met all the interns before starting. We had a starting couple of weeks to spend with the previous intern we were taking over from and to spend with the new fellow interns we were going to be spending the next 12 months with. My application process was easy and the assessment day was straight forward too.
They offered me training in multiple areas using different tools. People were always in contact checking up and pushing me and giving me ideas as to how to develop further. You definitely get out what you put in, and there's so many opportunities here.

I put it as this rating as I personally would like to explore other companies to widen my experience and skills. I've thoroughly enjoyed my year and maybe I will look into a possibility coming back in the distant future, but probably not in the near future.
The Culture
We made friends as an intern group so we all would meet up and go out.
I was placed in Reading, rent was quite expensive but not compared to a London placement but it was more than i was paying at Uni. Going out in Reading the prices were fine, it's if you're based in London, that will be a lot more expensive.
It's not amazing but it's not terrible either, we've had some good nights out.
