About You
It was a great experience as we got presentations from a vast spectrum of intervenants, each specialised in a different division of the bank. Not only did they clearly explain what they do and how their division works, they also took the time to tell us about their career and how the current situation will impact the economy and their institution.
I felt very valued during this programme. It was possible to interact with other people, via multiple platforms. Moreover, all intervenants replied to our questions without judgment nor prejudice. Citi has made a great deal of efforts to make this the best experience possible and to make it as interactive as possible.
I received a lot of guidance during the insight. They did everything to make us comfortable and help our career. Not only did they answered our many questions, but they also gave us a lot of advice on how to prepare for future interviews and progress in our professional careers.
I received a lot of information on Citi and on the different divisions and how they each operate and collaborate between them. More importantly, it was a unique experience to meet a lot of people who became friends and can help me in the future. Finally, I discovered an endless amount of interesting jobs in Finance and how it requires a strong knowledge of what happens in the world.
The Company
The insight was very well structured. We had a detailed schedule the first day and we sticked to it during the whole programme. We had speakers from all fields and division so we got a very broad and complete vision of Citi's activities. Moreover, we used many interactive platforms so we were able to speak directly to everyone involved.
Unbelievable atmosphere ! I did not expect so many wonderful and interesting people. A big part of the insight was obviously formal, but I also had the opportunity to talk more freely with fellow interns and we had a lot of fun. I already consider some of these people are friends.
They invested a lot of time and energy. Obviously, we could not meet in the London offices. But the time and effort they put to organise an online insight programme on such short notice are really unbelievable. From the recruiting team, to analysts and MDs, everyone was involved and took the time to explain clearly what they do and answer our questions.
The insight helped me a lot to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the firm. In fact, we learnt about their working environment and how they all work in symbiosis. In a sector where stress is usually part of the everyday life, all the employees seemed genuinely happy and fulfilled professionally and personally.
The insight helped me a lot in understanding the company culture. As I said earlier, the speakers told us about the firm's values and culture. I discovered how much diversity is valued in a firm like Citi and that is very reassuring especially since I am used to more "traditional" French companies.
This insight only reinforced my will to pursue a career in finance and more precisely in Investment Banking. Moreover I did not really know what Equity Research meant and I have to admit that that division seemed very interesting. In the future, I will keep an open mind to all possibilities. What is clear, is that I now want more than ever to work for Citi.
Everything Else
I was not reimbursed expenses because it was an online programme. Therefore, there were no expense to be reimbursed.
All employees gave us their email adresses and promised to answer all the remaining questions. Moreover, we created a real bond with other interns and it is a very important part of networking. We also had a live chat with several employees during an hour and it was possible to network during the whole insight programme.
It was difficult to make it happen as the insight programme was online. Other than that, I would say they were very good and will definitely help me in the future.
We did not ask a lot of questions about this. However, if someone asked, he got a very exhaustive answer.
I would very strongly recommend this insight to my friends. I cannot stress enough how amazing this experience has been. I thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of this insight and I will definitely keep in touch with a lot of my fellow interns. I did not think I would have enjoyed this programme so much. It has been an amazing opportunity and it will definitely help me in my future professional career.
