    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the Spring Week, the sessions were interesting and very well organised. It was really nice to hear people talking form different divisions, giving out advise, sharing their experience and other insights. Considering the position that they were put in during pandemic, they really managed to perform the best they can.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Since it was virtual, I didn't expect much, however, all speakers encouraged to ask questions and they were answered. HR staff also worked hard to make sure to get to know us personally a bit more, they organised a few get to know sessions and asked to send pictures of us.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Since most of the sessions were webinars, we did not need much guidance or support. However, regarding information, connection issue and other problem HR staff tried their best to support us during this tough time. Some speakers also let us know that their are waiting for any questions, no matter how basic they are, so that was supportive enough.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I am a computing student, I did not know much about markets, investment, private, corporate banking or trades, thus, everything I learned was new. We were given presentations from people who work within a company, not just a theory that we are learning in universities. After completing this insight, I can honestly say that I learned so many new things that I did not know.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • As I mention before - very well structured. We were given out timetables almost a week before the insight so we could prepare our time. HR staff were keeping us informed all spring week throughout about what's happening next and what they want us to do. It was clear what every session is about, we had our breaks every hour, they also made sure speakers are prepared on the hour that they supposed to be on. Couldn't say any bad word about it!

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Fantastic! Although it was quite sad that we could not see other interns and talk to them during the sessions, however, we created separate chats and had some calls during lunch time or in the end of the day - we took our opportunity to network. All speakers were really happy to see us and enjoyed answering our questions as well as showing presentations.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They did so much, considering the fact that they were expecting us to see face to face in London, but because of the pandemic everything has changed. Thus, they invested a lot of time to make sure they still monitor their virtual insight for us. After all those stages and all that time where they were interviewing us, it was really nice to know that they are prepared and waiting for us.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • What I enjoyed the most regarding this question was a Q&A with alumni interns who are now working in the company. Nothing can be better than a chat with people who have recently been where I am now, they could really explained their path and give tons of amazing advise as well as sharing their experience and describing their day-to-day tasks within a role.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Really a lot. All speakers were great, they were sharing their experience and gave advise, they were all from different divisions so it helped to really see the company as a whole. There are so many things happening there! I have heard about new positions that I never would have thought before.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I am still deciding where I want to pursue my career. However, speakers have talked about roles that I never knew exist. It made me realise that I should never settle on one role only and keep looking, be open and flexible because when one door closes, some other open.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Because it was a virtual insight program, we did not need any reimbursement.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Again, because of the virtual insight, we could only network with fellow interns not with employees. Other interns were really friendly so we were chatting on facebook, whatsapp, making zoom calls during lunch breaks and in the end of the day. We are still hoping to stay in touch even after this short insight!
