Spring Intern Review

I enjoyed the insight to a large extent as despite the current circumstances the team were still able to deliver a valuable, interactive insight into Citi's values, operations and businesses. It was a great experience to interact with live speakers and my spring cohort through Q&A sessions and live chats.

I felt valued to a large extent during my insight experience as the friendly HR team were constantly on hand, interacting with each of us. Throughout we were offered a great deal of encouragement, enabling us to interact well with members of Citi and our fellow spring interns. There was a genuine sense of Citi wanting us to enhance our understanding of their firm and businesses.

During the insight I received a large amount of support and guidance as the HR team were willing to help with any general issues we may have experienced and the live speakers would answer our questions throughout. They accounted for different levels of existing financial knowledge in their talks and always ensured we were following.

This experience will assist me in my degree studies and beyond to a large extent as I have gained a greater understanding of Citi's culture and businesses which will put me in good stead moving forward to the Summer Internship process. The experience will contribute to my degree studies through enhanced technical financial knowledge as well as greater commercial awareness.

The insight was extremely well structured given that it was delivered on a virtual platform. Throughout each day, the channels of information varied, providing us with insights from different perspectives via live speakers, workshops and hot topic sessions. This strong structure meant involvement was maintained throughout. Its varied nature also ensured that it accommodated for the interests of all interns.

The general atmosphere was lively and excitable. There was a constant air of inquisitiveness and a willingness to learn. This was evident throughout our Q&A sessions and live chats where people were keen to find out more but also to share their knowledge with others. The HR team were a great asset to the experience as they maintained a constant involvement and interaction from all.

Citi invested in my personal training and development to a large extent as there were both skill sessions and workshops as well as live talks with a significant Q&A feature. It has been made clear to me that they invest in their interns, hoping for them to progress to the next stage of recruitment. This was evident when learning of the career journeys of their employees.

The insight helped me understand to a large extent as I was able to converse with current employees. As they spoke and demonstrated their personalities, I was able to gain a feel for the variety of employees as well as roles in different businesses. A full time role at Citi would be a dream!

The content was most valuable as it presented various career options to me, however by employees sharing various career paths, I was able to begin to map out my own. Information and presentations on varied content helped me to process what areas of business were for me. I hope Citi forms part of my future career path!

I would highly recommend this insight as I learnt a plethora of new information about Citi but most importantly I now feel I understand their culture, values and various businesses. The outcome has been that I am keen to pursue a career with them as I now know I am not only suited to the industry but their firm in particular.
