Spring Intern Review

I would like to thank to all who had helped to make this opportunity come true. It has been the greatest week since the lockdown for sure. As the Spring Week was going to be online I thought that it was not going to be interactive enough. However, I was completely wrong. I couldn't have enjoyed more.

All the members of the UBS Spring Program showed a lot of interest in us. Once they have ended their presentations or sessions they were willing to answer any question that came to our mind. They were extremely kind to us. When there was an interesting point made by some participant, they told him/her. I ended up thinking that I was very valued during this week.

This has been one of the greatest points of this week. They helped us asking questions, providing links to attend the meetings, making the session much more interactive and making us feel very comfortable in the entire program. I appreciate a lot their work.

I think this has been a preparation for what is going to happen in my future career. After this week, I am confident to say that I want to work for an investment bank such as UBS. It has helped me to understand more how an investment bank works and what are the different division within the bank. In addition, it helped me to understand more about todays financial world, which will be of great help for my future.

It was excellent since the very beggining. We always knew what was going next before the session started. We were provided a schelude a week before in order to know how the Spring Week program was going to work. I cannot imagine a better structure for a students online program

We, the students, created a group of whatsapp, and since the very beggining there was a great atmosphere between us. I think they invested a lot of time. Applying for the Spring week program is not easy, there are a lot of candidates. They have seen a lot of hireviews in order to select the bests candidates. I cannot demand much more investment on me. I hope I can be part of the company in the future.

A lot, especially because we had some session which were called: "A day in ..." refering to an especific department of the company. In those sessions we could see how life of the employees of the company was, thus, we were able to decide if we wanted that life in the future.

For me, it was extremely helpful. We always tried to ask to the current employees why they chose UBS as their place to work, and their answer was always because of the culture of the company. We have been able to see the european culture of the company which is really different than other banks.

I was doubting a lot about my future. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to be in the future, and i had a lot of questions to do. After this great week, I am confident to say that I want to work in an investment bank in the future.

Theoretically, I was reiumbursed expenses. However, as the Spring Week Program was finally done online, there weren't expenses. At first, i was going to be reimbursed the flight and living expenses for that week because I live in Spain. That is something that I appreciated a lot because it gave the opportunity to non-UK students to be part of the program.

Of course there were opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company. At the end of each session they reminded us to conteact the speakers through Linkedin or via email. I had some really interesting conversations with some employees which were very enriching for me. There were a lot of networking opportunities.

Well, actually there were no networking events because the program was done online. However, as I said before, they reminded us constantly to contact each of the speakers that had participated on the last session. So, although there were no networking events, we ended up doing a lot of networking.

Of course I did. There were so much sessions so we could know a lot of things or opportunities that are given to employees outside of work. For example, they are able to take two days and get paid if they do volunteering taks through the optimus foundation that UBS has.

Of course I would. Actually, I already did. It is a great experience for a student who thinks that can have a future in the Banking sector. Each session was really insightful and I would recommend this insight to each one of my classmates for sure. And I would repeat it again!
