About You
The insight was so informative and broad. The people we interacted with were from a great range of positions and roles, and were all so inspiring and passionate. The experience has definitely educated me in the business and opened my eyes to career avenues I hadn't even thought of before.
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who led the insight program were so engaging and interested in all of us. They were great at checking in on all of us, asking how we found each talk, and really valued our input and questions.
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who led the insight program were fantastic. They had created an immense schedule for us, talking us through it each morning, and debriefing at the end of each day. The speakers were great in teaching us about the business and were extremely supportive in answering as many questions as time allowed them to.
Coming from a non financial or quantitive background, I found the information and assistance gained from the program invaluable. It will definitely help focus me on my university degree and my future. It also helped me understand that having a wide skill range is very valuable to the business, and so will help me to try and widen my own skill set.
The Company
The schedule was packed and extremely well put together, with the perfect amount of breaks and at the right times. Each day had a great balance, and we heard overviews and then from grads from each department, as well as extra areas UBS has to offer.
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] made the experience really fun- from quizzes to general chit-chat. Each speaker was so inspiring and engaging it was difficult not to have a great atmosphere to the program. Even though the program had to be help virtually, even contact between participants was really great too.
We were able to listen to a wide range of speakers, some of whom were very junior in the company. It was amazing to have them take time out of the schedules to explain their roles and business to us all.
Every speaker detailed their job throughly, and the 'Day In a Life of a Graduate' from various teams was especially helpful in gaining an insight into what a typical day may look like in each role, and understanding the responsibilities of the roles.
I found the philanthropy talk to be very helpful in this respect, as it highlighted UBS's eagerness in this department. Moreover, every speaker of the great culture within each team, and the approachability of all the employees.
The experience showed me many areas within the company which I had never considered for my own career path before, which has definitely broaden my view of the business.
Everything Else
I had no expenses to be paid for or reimbursed!
All of the speakers including the very senior ones were very clear that they were very willing to network with us, and we heard from a wide range of speakers from all positions and teams.
Virtual experience, so this was as good as it could be!
The grad were particularly great in this respect, and all of the employees described the importance of maintaining a good work-life balance which they all seemed more the capable of doing.
Definitely, especially for people like me who have no background in the area. Very informative!
