About You
I really enjoyed the insight, I found the information we received very relevant and informative. The culture of UBS came across very positively and the people who spoke were friendly and very helpful. I thought the insight was well structured and I am really pleased I had the opportunity to partake in it.
We were all encouraged to ask questions during speaker sessions and HR made sure to ask as many as possible. Any questions which weren't answered were subsequently sent to the speaker and we were given a prompt and thorough reply to all of the questions. I definitely felt valued at UBS.
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] made sure to send us the schedule and the links to the conference calls in advance as well as setting aside time each morning to run through the day and make sure we were all okay. We were frequently told to let them know of any issues faced.
I learned so much about the industry as well as the firm throughout the week and I believe it will help me to progress in my career well as I feel more confident to apply for a summer internship. It also helped me decide which division I think I am most suited to.
The Company
We were given a clear schedule for the insight a few weeks before it started. We were also given links to all conference calls so we could join easily and promptly. The schedule was very closely followed and sessions rarely overran. We were given breaks for coffee to ensure we remained engaged.
Everyone I encountered on the insight was very pleasant. HR were very genuine and made sure we had a fun time on the insight. The spring class were all lovely and we have subsequently stayed in touch. All the speakers gave a very good impression of UBS and I thought the overall atmosphere was brilliant.
We were given training on the first day to understand the bank and divisions within as well as basic economics skills for people from a non-finance background. We were given a full packed insight week with a lot of people from the firm giving up a lot of their time to speak to us.
All of the sessions, particularly those in which we spoke to people on the UBS grad scheme gave us a very good understanding of how a full time role would be. We could ask whatever we wanted and the answers given seemed to be very honest. It seems like a great place to work.
All of the sessions, particularly those in which we spoke to people on the UBS grad scheme gave us a very good understanding of how the culture is. The way HR interacted with us also gave us a good understanding as it seemed to be a very positive culture where everyone is treated as an equal.
I feel confident in the career I want to pursue at UBS and the different divisions were clearly explained through speaker sessions. I came into the insight with a vague idea of my future career but after the insight I am much more certain of it. We were also given the run down of different opportunities at UBS.
Everything Else
I did not incur any expenses as the insight was done virtually as a result of covid-19 so I did not have to buy train tickets. However, as far as I am aware, all expenses and accommodation would have reimbursed. I think it was a very impressive insight and no need to be paid.
We had lots of opportunities to ask questions to employees but as the insight was virtual there was no networking as such. We were advised to add people on linked in and email them etc. In the original schedule there were networking opportunities but as it was virtual this was simply not possible.

We were given information about different teams' social events for example a football team and often going out for social events after work. The atmosphere seemed good and teams seemed to be very close. We were also told about the take 2 initiative which encourages activities outside of work eg sports and the gym.
I really enjoyed the experience and I am so thankful for the opportunity. I was disheartened that we would not be doing the spring week as originally planned however the virtual insight exceeded my expectations and I really enjoyed it as I learned a lot. I look forward to further opportunities at UBS.
