About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. It was an impressive program where I was able to learn so much about how UBS operates and the culture of the bank. All employees were outstanding in the effort they put in to make the insight reach the high standard it did.
I felt really valued. All the employees were welcoming and open to any type of question. They provided us with a plethora of detail about life at UBS as well the type of jobs they did. This gave me a better understanding of the firm.
Everyday was filled with tons of motivating advice. It made me feel that I was gaining a lot more knowledge on which division would be the best for me. Furthermore, the last day gave me a further insight into how I would progress onto the next step of the internship ladder.
I picked up many skills, some of which include networking, communicating, team work and problem solving. These are all vital to every part of life and so, I will carry them on with me.
The Company
The insight was perfectly prepared by the Junior Talent Team, who ensured that each day was full of a variety of different activities and presentations. From this, the day went seamlessly and I was able to gain a full rounded experience of UBS.
As all the employees were so motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about their unique role, every session was filled with a new drive and momentum. From this, the atmosphere was one that was delightful and to be remembered.
There were a variety of activities which enhanced my personal training and development. The team had obviously invested a lot of time in making all of this possible. From quizzes to Q&A sessions, I was able to take away a lot of knowledge about UBS and the financial world. This was much appreciated.
The insight was full of talks and presentations from employees. I was able to ask questions to some of the most successful, senior staff, as well as the most recent graduates. This allowed me to understand what my role would be at each stage of my career and what type of reward I would feel at each point.
I had read about the Pillars, Principles and Behaviours before attending the insight. However, listening to everyone, made me understand how committed UBS is to meeting all of the pillars, principles and behaviours which were set out. From this, I gained a full round view of the excellent company culture.
The content was perfectly set out with a mixture of talks from successful senior members of staff, to more recent graduates. There were employees from almost every role and so, I was able to explore every career path I was thinking of. From this, I was able to narrow down well, which division would suit me the most.
Everything Else
Given the Coronavirus, this experience was held online. Although originally it would have happened in office, this was not possible. This there were no real expenses to be paid and so this didn’t matter necessarily. Thus I can not comment on this question in light of the situation in hand.
I met employees from all walks of the firm. Whether it be the most successful senior members of staff, to the more recent graduates. There was plenty of opportunity for Q&A sessions after each talk. This included speaking over the line. I was also encouraged to connect with employees over LinkedIn afterwards.
Given the situation, social event opportunities were limited given that we were not able to meet the employees in person. However, there was enough opportunity to ask enough questions to employees. Everyone was open to any type of question, whether it be about their role or the current financial news about their division.
There were sessions such as that of the Optimus Foundation which covered the philanthropic side of UBS. From this, I learnt how UBS focuses on charitable functions and encourages employees to volunteer in their local area. Thus, I realised that I would have the opportunity to give something back to society if I was an employee.
This insight was definitely enlightening. I learnt so much that I wouldn’t have imagined possible given the circumstances. However the Junior Talent Team brought everything together and made it superb. I was really motivated to work hard in order to increase my chances of success with UBS in the future.
