The Role
I enjoyed the resourcefulness of the company and its culture. There has been so much support and so much openness from everyone. If I wanted to learn more about a specific aspect of the business it was as easy as walking up to someone's desk and ask for a 1to1 meeting. I can't think of anyone at NBCU who would reject even if they don't know you yet.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. NBCUniversal is a huge company, so expect many different dynamics and cultures within each of the departments and teams. My team had a very direct and funny culture for which I was a great fit. Loved it!
My supervisors were always available to help me understand tasks, answer questions, and conduct 1to1 meetings to discuss my ideas, new projects and give career advise.
All in all, my work load was just about great. The nature of my job however required most tasks to be done on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. These days therefore were very busy, while the rest of the week was less busy.
What I really enjoyed was the fact that I was treated like a full employee. I was trusted with responsibility like all others and I never felt treated like an intern. This made me learn a lot more than in any other internship before.
I learned a lot about Excel and SAP. Also, I learned so much about how a corporation works. This was something very new to me, that I did not experience before. In addition to that I learned much about how to structure my day and tasks, which is different from school. Also, the job taught me much about company politics and about how to navigate new ideas from conception to approval.
The Company
It heavily depends on the department you are in. Some are more quiet, others are very chatty. I felt that the mix made the overall atmosphere very nice and welcoming. There was a lot of movement and in addition to that there is the coffee shop where you could meet a lot of people and have a chat.
I felt the work place very organized and professionally handled. All processes from HR to IT and events were working very well and there was nothing I could complain about. The only thing I noticed was that people seemed to have many personal belongings on their desks which made some desks very full and some of them unorganized. I guess hot desking would solve that problem and bring more mix into the people and increase the possibilities of networking.
The company was very open to suggestions and wishes from the employees. For example there was the feedback that people wanted to learn more about career development, LinkedIn, CV, etc. The company almost immediately implemented this by inviting speakers and organizing workshops. In addition to that they heavily encouraged to use LinkedIn learning and other tools.

Working from home
They are very appealing as there is great variety of business fields and little boundaries for networking. Especially as an intern I find it easy to get in touch with people from other areas and learn more about the opportunities they offer. If you are interested in entertainment, I cant really think of any area that NBCU does not have in their portfolio.
The Culture
Yes, there were many initiatives to go out after work and have a good time with your colleagues.
London is as you might already know not the cheapest place on earth. I however found it very doable in light of my salary and several events that were invited by the company.
It was very good. Around the office, which is in central London there was almost endless opportunities to go for a beer or dance. It was great as there was no need to take the Underground in order to get to the good places.
Yes, there were many opportunities, such as workshops, or initiatives, which were often times started by smaller teams as well.
