About You
It was an incredible enjoyable experience, very interactive despite the fact that the spring week was conducted virtually due to the pandemic. All of the activities were incredibly insightful and easy to follow. I would recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about banking in general! It was great!
I felt incredibly valued, all of my questions were answered, throughout the session held during the internship. Besides this, the sessions held on a variety of topics were very engaging and clearly centred around helping us interns understand the business areas within UBS. Also, everyone who presented to us was very encouraging and reassured us that UBS was looking for talented individuals to work there.
This was something that was more difficult to provide given that the internship was conducted virtually and all the sessions were done through the use of Skype, however there was still a great deal of support provided, especially from the EMEA campus recruiting team organising the spring week, regarding answering any queries
The internship gave me a clearer idea of what direction I wanted to pursue in my career and helped me distinguish which business area was for me. Apart from this, the programme boosted my confidence and networking skills, as well as allowing me to hone in on my understanding of commercial awareness and why this is important.
The Company
The insight week was structured very well! Participants were provided with a schedule of the events and sessions that would take place during the course of the programme, including names of the speakers and their respective business areas. Also, we were emailed the relevant information needed for each session in good time and sometimes also provided with the speaker’s slides to make each session easier to follow.
The insight week has a lovely informal vibe, which made it easier to get to know others on the programme. The organisers did well to make us all laugh and there were a variety of interactive activities, such as fun general knowledge quizzes to break the ice and get everyone excited.
Hard to do this, as the spring internship was virtual.
This programme has helped with this a great deal. We were able to gain insight into every major line of business in UBS and directly from employees in those roles. I would recommend this placement as a good way to gain insight into all areas of banking to find out which role is the best for you.
very helpful
The content was extremely helpful in helping me decide on a future career path. The content offered a lot more clarity of what different roles entail and the day of the life of employees in a variety of areas. I left with a much clearer idea of what role would be ideal for me and how roles in banking fit in with each other.
Everything Else
The spring week was moved online due to the ongoing crisis, hence there was no need for reimbursement given no participants had to travel or book accommodation for the duration of the programme. However, in usual circumstances, UBS does reimburse participants if necessary, which is also very helpful for those who need to travel.
Throughout the sessions, there were many opportunities to meet employees and network. All participants were encouraged to keep in touch on Linkedin. Whats was also helpful was that there were numerous question and answer opportunities at several points during the week. This was a good means of networking with the speakers.
During the Q&As after each session, but done virtually.
Yes, especially volunteering and philanthropy projects or sports.
Yes, it was the better out of the two spring internship programmes that I had at banks.
