About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight programme as it was very informative and all the sessions really provided me with a deeper insight into what each of the different divisions in the bank do. It was also a good chance to interact with my fellow spring interns and build my network.
Through the virtual spring intern I felt I was a valued member at the company despite no physically being there at their offices. They tried their utmost at making it a very interactive session and to make it feel like we were a part of the company during the programme and I definitely felt that way.
I received a tremendous amount of support and guidance throughout this insight as we were given a sense of direction about where we want our careers to go next. The support we received was enhanced by the fact that we were free to ask questions whenever we wanted to and they were always answered.
The skills that we developed and learnt during this insight programme will most definitely remain with me for life as they are transferrable to any career or activity that I am going to do. Skills such as communication, teamwork and analytical thinking are some examples of such skills that were developed.
The Company
The insight was very well structured and there was a clear schedule sent to us beforehand about how the programme was run. The sessions ran for a suitable length and the whole day ran for the perfect time and neither too long nor too short thus culminating in a very good structure.
The atmosphere was very good given the difficult circumstances of it being a virtual insight programme but nevertheless the campus team did their best to make sure the atmosphere was very inclusive and welcoming and I felt it allowed me to be comfortable whilst doing the programme and listening to the sessions.
The insight helped to a very large extent in terms of allowing us to see what a full time role at the bank would be like. The analyst panel and series of talks by senior bankers gave us a 360 image of what the daily life is like working in the bank.
The most crucial thing that was made clear to me on this programme was how inclusive the company culture was and how all of the people who came to talk to us loved working at the bank and enjoyed going there to also meet and talk with their fellow colleagues.
The content was very valuable as it allowed us to see the different divisions which are offered in the bank, some of which were unknown to me before the programme and thus it was very useful in seeing what the different teams do on a daily basis and the different people they interact with.
Everything Else
We did find out about a lot of networks there at the bank and a couple of charity projects that some of the employees have undertaken during their time working there. It showed that the bank is always willing to give back and spend time helping many different people and societies.
I would recommend this insight to everybody who is thinking of entering the financial industry or even just furthering their career and improving their skillset. It provides you a great opportunity as well to build your network and also learn some valuable knowledge about how a large financial institution runs.
