The Role
It was a busy week with lots to do. I felt that I learnt a lot over the course of the week.
We had a chance to do work shadowing on the placement and all the graduates were really friendly and interested.
RBS made sure we learnt a lot about banking/markets and how to network before put into shadowing. This was really good.
We were very busy but it kept the week busy. We were placed in lots of different locations around London - advisable to wear comfy shoes.
Were not given much responsibility but I was not expecting to as it was an insight week.
The networking session was useful and meeting people all week is really good practice for the future. We also learnt a bit more about interviews and assessment centres which are transferable skills.
The Company
It is hard to say as we were in so many places. As there was a big group of interns we did have fun.
Although we were very busy etc. some of the timings changed and I felt the booklet we had made could have had more time in being put together (lots of typos etc)
A lot of money went into organising the week, I was impressed with how important it seemed to the company.
Company Parties/Events
I left with a very positive image of RBS and would be interested in a summer internship with them.
The Culture
Yes the other interns were of the same age and I met some interesting people
London is not cheap but they did provide apartments for free as well as lunch and breakfast.
We only went to one bar on the last night but it was fun.
It was only a week long experience so was pretty jam-packed but they put on a social event on the last night.
