The Role
Supervisor was very patient, helpful, always available to discuss challenges
Frequently thanked for my contribution and colleagues always mentioned me to credit my work
Offered a workshop to attend before the placement, colleagues always welcomed any questions
I never felt obliged to take on any work if I felt I was too busy.
I was given the right amount of responsibility for my abilities. As I learned more, I was given more responsibilities appropriately.
My project was a completely new style of work that I was unfamiliar in but I think I have gained enough experience and training to build my expertise.
The Company
Really enjoyed monthly breakfast gatherings, also had holiday outings together.
Aim, process and expected results for my project were clear from the beginning and often explained by my supervisor well so that I can understand the foundation and expand.
Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the workshop offered before onboarding the placement but it was offered. I was also offered to present in a conference that was unfortunately postponed due to lockdowns. However, the opportunity was always there and there were very little pushback in getting resources.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, I am looking into jobs similar to what I have been doing with the organisation and would be great to be absorbed by the organisation to continue the work with the organisation if possible.
The Culture
Although there was a social scene and group gatherings, fellow placement students in the site seemed to be more familiar with each other since they were in a longer placement before y onboarding.
Quite middle of the road, not very cheap but definitely not as expensive as other places I have seen.
Can't say much as I was not very involved in the nightlife.
Work place would sometime arrange fun activities outside of work, such as subsidising skate rinks or workshops that we could attend at a lower cost.
