The Role
A fantastic opportunity to learn a wide scope of different skills. I greatly enjoyed all the work I was doing there and if ever I wasn't, it was easy to move onto something was was enjoyable.
Every piece of work I completed was never undermined. Any questions I had were never judged or rejected. The same goes for any problems I had with work carried out.
As stated above, any questions or struggles I had were never judged or rejected. Team members and other colleagues, mentors or management/supervisors were always happy to help and offer advice for anyone.
I kept busy on a daily basis with my core role taking up the majority of the day and then the fantastic giveback and online learning available took up the rest.
It varied from work item to work item but the majority of the time I had deadlines and priorities for certain tasks in order to do a good job.
I have certainly improved as a person and professionally. My view on business has completely changed and the skills I developed have made my approach to problem solving greater, which in turn assists my in my degree studies
The Company
We were a team and that meant we were all friends, got along and no one felt left out. Team outings, daily scrums were a great way to keep a lively atmosphere.
Once we got going everything was smooth but as it is a large company, the first two weeks of my placement required a lot of back and forth emails between people asking for permissions and access to workspaces.
They always encouraged people to expand outside their comfort zone and try different things during the placement.
