The Role
i loved my work placement, though it was very busy, this meant i learnt lots of new skills and have come a long way! we were given lots of responsibility to manage our own work, but the guidance we needed as well. It has been a very productive 12 months and i am very pleased i had the experience.
The employees gave us lots of responsibility to get involved in different projects and lots of new work. This made me feel valued since people gave me the opportunity to show i am capable or working to a top standard. My manager always asked if there were new activities or projects i wanted to explore.
i received lots of guidance within my role, at first i was worried to ask if i didn't understand what i was doing, but i was then reassured that asking is the best thing to to, rather than spending so much more time on something trying to figure it out and getting stressed.
i got busier the further on i went into the placement, at the start i was involved in lots of training to pick now things up and get up to speed. Now i am involved in lots of work and am very busy each day. However, this is positive since it means i am constantly learning.
i was given lots of responsibility, to manage groups of people, present and take on new projects. If i felt i was up for the task, i had my managers support and backing to be guided through the process and helped if needed, but also left to be able to be responsible for the work i was managing.
The training and new skills i have developed have set me in good stead for my final year of university, understanding the business process an the need for different processes, will help me with the business elements of my degree. There is also the presentation skills i have developed from presenting to groups of people.
The Company
very fun atmosphere, with lots of fun but also lots of hard work. it is the work hard, play hard ethos, with lots of fun and laughs, but lots of work to get completed to a good standard. The office was busy with lots of people around, which made it enjoyable.
very well organised, everything was managed properly by HR teams and i always had someone i could ask about different things, and i never felt i didn't understand what was going on, or if anything was unclear. very well organised and regular check ins to ensure you are having a good time.
for my personal development, we were able to go on different courses to understand our purpose, and where we wanted our career to take us. i had frequent conversations with my manager to help with my development and steer me in the right direction, to get involved in what would aid my develoment.

very appealing, i would definitely want to work here in the future if the right role was available. the company ethos and culture is great, where they all look after you and make sure you are having a good time. the work is also challenging but very enjoyable to complete.
The Culture
yes, the social side of things was very good, with frequent department parties, company wide parties and drinks after work. this ensured we could have a good social side to the role and fit in when we first started. there were also lots of events for the placement students to socialise and get to know eachother.
very expensive, since i lived in london the cost of living, transport, accommodation and socialising was very expensive. This left you with little money so you did have to be careful with spending. However, i still had a great time and was able to go out alot and socialise with friends
very good, but very expensive. most places were only 10 minute walk down the road or a quick train stop away. this made it easy to meet up wth friends and socialise, since everywhere was easily connected and had good bars and clubs. there were also night tubes and buses to help get back.
yes, lots of opportunities to get involved in, with different sports clubs and events to be a part of, whether it be football, netball, dodge ball. there were different events and opportunities to get involved in no matter what you enjoyed. this is the same for most places in London for activities.
