The Role
My job was interesting and motivating and I had a lot of ownership and responsibility. Tasks were varied and interesting and the team was fantastic!
The team was exceptional, I felt free to express my opinions, take risks and ask for advice. I had a lot of support and opportunities to do well.
Management and colleagues were very supportive and gave lots of advice beyond just the internship and projects I was working on.
I think this is specific to what kind of work load and type you enjoy but I was on average quite busy. Hours were often long but
This varied by project but on several project I was given full responsibility and accountability on project which although nerve wracking at times was immensely educational and rewarding. I was also still supported by my colleagues and managers.
I developed a lot of soft and hard skills that will be applicable to my studies and beyond as well as many real life examples and case studies that will be especially relevant in my studies.
The Company
The office was a professional, comfortable and fun place. It was easy to reach out to colleagues and friends and the floor had recently been refurbished to make it an even more welcoming and co-operative place.
Overall the internship was very structured and well set up and there was clarity in the process and journey I was meant to follow.
There was lots of compulsory and optional training available throughout the placement. Through the degreed platform you could expand your knowledge on a variety of topics at your own pace. There were also recurring physical training and seminars on digital and e-commerce training as well as for research platforms we frequently use. There is also a purpose workshop which employees are recommended to do.

As part of the placement program if you perform well you could be fast tracked to the Future Leaders Graduate scheme, placing you directly at the final stage of the application process- the assessment centre. You could also be recommended for direct hire, meaning you would enter a team right away.
The Culture
There was a great community of placement and summer interns, even though we were placed at different offices many socials and opportunities to meet were organized. There was also a good scene amongst most teams you work in.
I worked at the Global HQ which is in central london so the expenses getting into the City and going out around there after work were often substantial. Living wise however you can live in more affordable areas out of the centre and commute in as its a well connected area.
Whether it be with interns or the teams there were lots of opportunities to socialize after work in a friendly and comfortable setting. Most of the team was quite young and that made making plans and forming friendships quite easy.
The office offered a series of free yoga, sports and other classes which I attended with friends and colleagues. There are also a lot of volunteering and purpose initiatives the brands get involved in which you can too. I know at the UK office they also have a variety of sports team
