The Role
My placement was very enjoyable. IBM gives you a real job with real responsibilities. I was held accountable for my work. Throughout the year I was given a variety of jobs and was able to network with people throughout the company. I cannot thank IBM enough for the experience.
I felt extremely valued by all of my managers and colleagues. I was consistently praised and given constructive feedback on my work. They also trusted me and gave me great responsibility.
I had both a task manager and an early professionals manager who gave me great support throughout the year.
My role was extremely busy and gave me a variety of tasks. I was never bored throughout the year and my managers were always keen to give me extra projects in quieter periods of the year.
As said above IBM only gives interns real jobs with real responsibility.
I have gained invaluable experiences and skills from working with IBM. Before this placement I was unsure of what direction I wanted to go in after my degree- IBM has opened a world of opportunities
The Company
The office I was placed in was quiet and appart from my team there wasnt much opportunity to meet other interns
Very well organised- you had both a task manager and early professionals manager to report to which covered every need you had as an intern and gave you constant direction.
We were given access to a site called Your Learning where we were able to learn about pretty much anything within the workplace. We were sent out an intern monthly learning plan which helped direct out learning.
