About You
This was one of the best legal experiences I have had. I truly learned a lot and gained a better insight into the type of matters the firm handles. This only made me want to secure a training contract with the firm even more.
Fee earners at all levels really took their time in speaking to you about the firm and were willing to hear about your experiences.
I felt very much supported by graduate recruitment and my trainee buddy throughout the scheme.
The finance session was particularly helpful in consolidation of my knowledge from my master's.
The Company
The scheme was very well structured in respect of both department presentations and virtual coffees.
Morale was high among the other vacation scheme students and this was matched by the firm.
This was limited due to the circumstances of the scheme. However, everything that could be done to develop our understanding of the work of the firm was done very well.
I could not have been given a better understanding of the work of a full time lawyer with the firm. From departmental talks to online resources, we were provided with many opportunities to gain an insight into the firm.
Being approached and contacted by various different people at the firm of various seniorities showed the friendly, yet ambitious culture of the firm.
This content was instrumental in helping decide on my future as a commercial solicitor.
Everything Else
I was paid and was also gifted an online food delivery voucher for social events organised by the firm.
There were many opportunities for networking and meeting various individuals of ranging seniorities at the firm.
The social events were much better than you could expect virtual social events to be. I was impressed at how inclusive and relaxed they were.
There are many activities that employees get involved in out of work. Range from Pro-bono to sports teams. This was actually encouraged by the current Training Principal.
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend looking for a career in commercial law.
