The Role
VWFS is great environment to work in, everyone is very welcoming and there is so many opportunities to get involved in both work and out of work wise.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as they are always there if you need any advice and push you to do your best and have trust and faith in you to do so.
The management at VWFS does not feel hierarchal. My manager always had time for me despite being very busy and her main focus for my year was that I got the most out of it and learnt a lot. This even included me switching to a different team for a few months so I could see if that was a career I would like to pursue.
As I was in the project management team, work is not number driven it is more deadlines and people driven. So it was either very busy or some days were quieter due to what was going on with the project. However, it was majority of the time busier.
I was given lots of responsibility ranging from managing workstreams in a project to managing a project with another undergraduate which reported into the director.
There is lots of self-development training provided throughout the year for the undergrads such as presentation courses. I have also seen a general improvement in my skills and confidence due to VWFS which will help me in my next job.
The Company
The atmosphere is very friendly.
The placement year is very organised with different training sessions throughout the year and there is always someone available to ask questions to.
VWFS also paid for me to gain both my Project Management and Business Analysis qualifications in London as well as my travel there. This shows how much they value their undergrads.

They are not offering the graduate scheme for my year but they offer a chance to interview for the VWG scheme.
The Culture
All the placement students were very sociable, we would go on nights out and each lunch together everyday. There was 27 of us in total with a mixture living in MK and some commuting.
I commuted but socialising cost was average.
Milton Keynes has an ok night life.
There was football, other charity events and team events,
