    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement with Warner bros. I was given a lot of responsibility at all times which although meant I was very busy it also meant I was able to really experience what a full time job would be like and now I feel extremely prepared for the future!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt extremely valued by my team. Every member would always point out how good a piece of work was or how helpful my work was to them. I think this is so important and motivating and made me feel as though I was valuable and helpful for the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of guidance and support. My line manager and I would have 1-1 catch ups at least once a week where we could go through any concerns I had or talk through a project I was working on. I would gain constant feedback from the team.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It differed from week to week which was quite nice! Sometimes I was very busy with a lot of deadlines but other weeks I would be more relaxed and able to just do the daily tasks. It would definitely differ from team to team, but ultimately I was happy with my workload.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility, running projects and answering issues and questions to any level member of staff. Your team trust you as if you are a full time member of their team and I think this is always reflected in the amount of responsibility I was given.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think this placement will definitely help with my written communication and data handling which will be extremely useful for my dissertation next year. It has also given me an insight into a different area which will help me when choosing final year options and research topics in my 3rd year.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very welcoming, everyone was always open for a chat and was always ready to help if I had any problems. It was quite relaxed, you could get a drink and food whenever! The office is open plan and I love that as it makes it a lot more of a social environment

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised. There was specific intern trainings available to us so that we could develop. We had 1-1 chats every week and formal reviews every 3rd of the year which were always very helpful. There was also a-lot of intern and apprentice meet ups which helped us to network across the business.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think they invested a lot as I had different trainings throughout the year such as project thinking skills and presentations skills. If I were to do a year again, I would like to see a few more trainings put in for later on in the year as there were more at the start.
