The Role
A lovely experience in nice offices with really nice staff. Grad Recruitment treated us really well but we also got a great insight into how the firm works.
Integrated fully, sitting in the chairs of staff on holiday, whether they be partners or associates. Close proximity to other lawyers meant constant interaction: always a good thing.
Grad Recruitment put in place excellent supervisors who really look after you and get you work to do. Very approachable.
Not too much work can realistically be done by vac schemers, but got a good mix of research and more practical tasks - exactly what is expected on a scheme liek this.
The right amount of responsibility. Did not feel out of depth but still treated as independent and left to complete work accordingly.
Lots of research tasks mean study skills and techniques honed - frequent use of Westlaw and LexisNexis can only be good for a law degree in which such research tools are essential. Also now know a bit more what it's like to be a trainee, and have hopefully developed skills that reflect that.
