The Role
Working at WarnerMedia has been a great experience, the environment and culture of the company is very good and the opportunities to work with some of my favourite brands and franchises has been incredible. I always felt my work was valued and necessary which in turn made it more enjoyable.
My managers and team gave me a lot of responsibility within my role and i always felt the work i was producing was essential and valued. My team also gave me consistent feedback which allowed me to growth within my role throughout the year. This is reflected in the company's rank as a Top 100 employer.
Throughout my placement i always felt i had support from my manager and team. Whenever i had any questions or issues arise they always mad themselves available to help. My manager also checked in with me regularly to allow me to voice any opinions and also give me feedback on my work.
There was a perfect balance of work throughout the year which meant i always had something to be getting on with, but also allowed me time to attend the range of training sessions available and socialise with other interns and my team. During the Covid-19 pandemic and working from home this balance was essential.
Throughout my placement i felt i was always given as much responsibility as i was comfortable with. In some situations this involved me liaising with customers and clients directly with little to no involvement of other colleagues. However, i was always supervised so that if i encountered any problems or became uncomfortable someone was able to help me.
The professional and personal skills i gathered during my placement will be essential in both my studies and my future career. The learnings provided throughout the year will also be extremely valuable to me, thee included presentation skills, personality analysis and workload management.
The Company
The general atmosphere around the office is friendly, vibrant, and hard working with lots of interaction and coordination between teams and colleagues all round the office. The one plan layout makes everyone feel approachable and allows interns to become comfortable and confident within their teams and working areas very quickly. There were also consistent opportunities for socialising in the office and after work.
The placement scheme at Warner was very well organised. I was very quickly made to feel welcome and comfortable in my role. The consistent learnings sessions offered by HR such as public speaking also allowed me to develop a range of skills i would otherwise not have had the opportunity to. The Warner scheme has been running a substantial length of time and this has allowed them to find a great structure.
I was given many opportunities to learn new sills, attend speaker sessions with prominent figures within the industry, attend masterclasses and also receive high-level training in essential softwares such as Microsoft Excel. My team also ensured i was given a great insight into the industry.

Unfortunately WarnerMedia has no specific graduate scheme at the moment. However, there area number of interns who have returned to the company as full time employees. I think this speaks volumes for the placement programme as both a method of gaining invaluable experience and also as introducing people to a great employer.
The Culture
The social scene among fellow interns was great and very active. There were frequent nights out, lunches, socials and events held both for interns only and within teams/divisions. With over 40 interns and apprentices there were loads of people in the same position with the same interests which helped create a great atmosphere within the office.
The office is based in Holborn, not far from Soho and as such is an expensive area to socialise. However, the wealth of bars and facilities nearby make it a great place to work. Living in or around central London is always expensive but it gives you a great opportunity and taste of living in a big city.
Soho and Covent Garden are just a 5 minute walk from the office so there are endless opportunities for a great night out. The social scene at WB also caters to this with lots of work events and intern nights out. Intern nights out are regularly organised privately and by HR.
There were a lot of opportunities to participate in activities outside of work, through sport, clubs, socialising and charity events.
