The Role
Fully enjoyed working at Warner Bros. Can't really fault anything with the placement, the only downside being the last few months working from home due to lockdown. The office atmosphere was great, the staff are really friendly and welcoming, and the roles and responsibilities were fun, engaging and very varied.
I felt very valued by my colleagues at WB. Where we were given so much responsibility, we really were part of the team, and other members of the team would often rely on us for certain tasks or projects to be complete before they could proceed. So we really got a lot of experience as a result of this. The work we did really did impact the rest of the team and made a difference.
Our managers were very supportive with any issues or concerns we had. I felt we could talk to them about anything. They were very helpful with our learning and development, with always being shown new and more efficient ways of doing things. Also, WB offered all interns various training programs, which helped with our day to day tasks.
Levels of business varied. But overall we were relatively busy and always had something to do. Some weeks were busier than others, sometimes leading up to a films release in the cinema. Even if we finished our work early for the day, there would always be something to get on with, which was great as it meant we got more out of the placement.
A lot of responsibility was given to us right from the start. For example handing budgets and running our own amazon marketing campaigns in the first few weeks! Being given this level of responsibility meant we had to engage and think much more, which helped with the overall development throughout the year.
In terms of marketing skills/knowledge, I have learned so much. Way more than University can teach you due to learning by doing, and actually learning in a practical work environment. With skills to assist in studies, things like improvements in communication and teamwork and leadership will definitely help.
The Company
Atmosphere in the office was relaxed and everyone was very friendly. Everyone got along with each other and everyone had an great attitude towards helping others. The office was nice and open-plan too which made it easier to approach people as well as offering a variety of nice places to hot desk.
Overall very well. Didn't really run into any issues with this. The previous interns helped with a 3 week handover to bring us up to speed and this was definitely enough time. HR were good at communicating with all the interns too and arranging training etc for all the interns.
Quite a lot. All the interns participated in a variety of training sessions throughout the year which really helped with progression on the job role and also skills for final year of Uni. Our team were also good with training us in everything we needed to know about the role.

Would love to come back and work at Warner Bros. after Uni. They don't offer a grad-scheme though, but this is good as you would be going straight into a relevant role, rather than essentially starting from the bottom again.
The Culture
Really good social scene with other interns and colleagues. There were loads of other interns so there was a strong sense of community. The interns would often arrange socials outside of work as well as the company organizing work parties. There are also charity events to get involved with where WB match what you raise.
Cost of living in London was very high compared to Uni, but definitely do-able. Some interns paid less than others and just experiencing living in London anyway is definitely worth the sacrifice of paying slightly more for rent etc. Socializing wise, again it's London prices so generally more expensive than average. But there are definitely ways of doing it cheaply.
Very good. It's Central London so there's loads of bars and pubs around the area, which is where people tend to go for after work drinks etc. There are so many options to pick from and lots of niche places to explore as well.
There was a charity scheme where you could volunteer at places, which some of the interns took part in. Also, the WB football team where they play other companies in the same industry every few weeks, which lots of the interns got involved in and loved doing.
