    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working at WarnerMedia (WarnerBros Games) has been a great experience which has allowed me to combine both my interests in Games and Finance, as well as get to know 50+ other interns. In addition, the amount of responsibility and trust given to you by your manager and other employees really help you grow as a person over the placement and ends up being a really interesting and fun work environment.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • When I started I already felt like a key and valued member of the team. This is because you are given real responsibilities and tasks/reports as well as the freedom to learn and work on your own 'Project' during your placement, which will inevitably help your team and fellow colleagues.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You get an initial grace period during your initial few months, afterward you are given more responsibility/accountability. However, throughout the placement my team and manager were very helpful with any questions or concerns I had about any task or issue. It was also very easy to talk with my manager about anything due to the seating arrangement.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busyness would range day to day, due to different Weekly tasks and Adhoc requests that would come in. As long as you could appropriately manage your time you would still find time to work on your individual projects and learn. I will say at the start of the placement you won't feel as busy (due to warming period) but as the months go on you will get busier and more comfortable with the job in general.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • From the time i first started, the job and responsibilities have changed and grown. You are given a lot of ownership on delivering weekly reports as well as working with other teams (internationally) on different projects to help better the business. You may even being given the opportunity to lead a project.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I will say the skills you develop whilst on placement will not only help you in your future career but also your final year. With regards to my degree specifically, it has provided real insight into how big businesses run and operate as well as provide me with a real direction in what employment path i want to go down.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • My immediate team and the Wider WBIE EMEA Games team made the atmosphere extremely warm and welcoming. Socialising was very easy also, due to the other 50+ interns also working there and the events that took place.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall work placement was well set up and extremely impressive. With the amount of interns that they employ, there are a lot resources readily available to any intern.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company and my department especially helped with my personal training and growth. The company as a whole had many training sessions throughout the year. However, more specifically my department sent me on a out of office course to an in-depth/advanced training session on a new software I had been learning during my placement.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Whilst I would love to come back and work in the same field/department, there is no Graduate scheme offered at WarnerMedia. Otherwise, I am very keen at future employment opportunities here at WB (more specifically the WBIE Games department).

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a very good social scene, due to the amount of interns and apprentices that Warner hire. This means that there is always someone up for going out after work (mainly Thursdays).

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Working in Central London, is always going to be extremely expensive but there are definitely ways to save on money and have a good night out. As i already live in London, the cost of living wasn't really an impact to me, however the closer you live to central the more expensive it will be.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London Nightlife, so it is really good. Everything is within a small tube ride. So it is really easy to get around and go to different places.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Quite a few volunteering ones as well as Warner led events, normally when there is a new release of anniversary. Although there could have been a few more.

    3/5
