About You
Thoroughly enjoyed the virtual experience! The talks, introductions and activities were all conducted with great energy and enthusiasm. The week was also the right balance of time on 'Zoom' and actual practical work with teams. I'm very glad to have been able to also work in groups and managed to make friends on the virtual internship!
Very valued. It was fantastic to hear talks from very senior people in the organisation from the co-CEO to Managing Directors. It was clear to me that the firm values it's interns extensively from this. The atmosphere of the internship was also very friendly with emphasis placed on getting to know one another.
We received all the guidance that we needed in order to complete our tasks. Of particular note was the fact that current trainees took time out of their busy days to help us as interns with our group projects. This was invaluable and something that I really appreciated.
I am certain after doing the Virtual Internship that DLA Piper is the firm that I do want to work at. The information provided about the firm and the legal sector was extensive and has allowed me to make an informed decision. It was great to also have the opportunity to work in groups on activities that are carried out by lawyers at the firm.
The Company
The virtual experience was super well structured with each day bringing something new. It was also a lovely touch that within the structure of the day there was time for the Group Project work to take place. It was also great that other activities were dispersed between the Zoom calls to keep things fresh.
Fantastic! Grad Recruitment were amazing at fostering a relaxed and open atmosphere during the internship. Everyone that took part was enthusiastic and very friendly as well.
The firm, as mentioned previously, invested heavily in individuals providing access to senior leadership to ask questions and provided trainees to answer any questions directly to do with Group Task set. It was clear that a lot of time, thinking and effort had gone into making the Virtual Internship as useful for the interns as possible.
It was great to be able to engage in the Group Project that highlighted an aspect of what it would be like to have a full-time role. I think due to time-constraints, it just would not be possible to cover everything that a full-time role with the firm would entail.
Hearing from firm leaders was very helpful in understanding the firms culture. The conduct of all members of the staff on the internship also embodied the fantastic culture of the firm.
I was already fairly set on my career path, but the Virtual Internship definitely solidified the decision in my mind!
Everything Else
The Just Eat vouchers were a lovely touch!
Yes, we got to meet members from all levels of the firm from senior leadership to trainee. There were plentiful opportunities be it in smaller groups or the main group to hear from and ask questions to these people.
Working towards a group project meant that I was working very closely with 4 other Interns. This was fantastic and I managed to make friends just by working with my colleagues. There were also many informal 'drop in' sessions that allowed for more casual questions. Of-course, due to the virtual nature, the amount of opportunities was inevitably more limited than it would have been otherwise.
Yes, employees from all levels talked about the social and general interest activities that you can get involved outside of work. The camaraderie of the entire firm really did come through from the amount of activities the employees do together outside of work.
Absolutely!
