    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the whole week. We were lucky enough to listen to a range of speakers from across the firm, gained an insight into different practice areas and learned more about the experience of being a trainee. We also had organised drop in sessions and regular Q&As across the week.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The whole team made everyone feel comfortable and truly part of the programme. We all had access to the a buddy scheme and were able to reach out to the team in the event of any questions or queries. All the speakers and participants from the firm were invested in our experience.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Members of the firm were always on hand to answer any questions we had. Not only that but things were communicated in a clear and well structured manner, which helped us to navigate the set tasks and itinerary effectively and productively. I also received continued support from my buddy.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The team work and communication skills I had the chance to develop further will be invaluable moving forward din my career. Not only that but the knowledge and insight the experience provided me with, both on the legal sector and the business world will assist me in building my career in the future.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The whole week was planned in a precise and clear manner with consideration given to our learning and personal development. At every stage the team were on hand to ensure we were able to get the most out of the experience possible.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Throughout the week everyone was positive and encouraging, making it thoroughly enjoyable. Everyone approached things with enthusiasm and this made for a dynamic atmosphere amongst interns and members of the firm.

  • 4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We got to speak with people at every level of the firm, and people from different points in their career which helped to provide a holistic view of what a full time role would entail. We got the opportunity to complete work as part of a team and speak in depth with trainees about their experience.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • At every stage, the people that presented to us and that we worked with reaffirmed the company culture, and this was a really positive and exciting aspect of the internship. We had workshops and webinars on diversity and inclusion, responsible business and the firm's Pro Bono programme which were really insightful.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The summer internship was invaluable, in helping me to confirm my decision and future career aspirations. The whole team gave us detailed information regarding next steps and the information needed to move forward with our ambitions. The inside knowledge we gained, and advice from senior members of the firm was also useful to decide future career decisions.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were smaller group sessions and plenty of drop ins with trainees allowing us to get to know people at the firm and what they did on a daily basis. Not only this, but everyone we spoke with was more than happy to follow up via email, or answer any other questions we had.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There was a quiz, and organised office specific sessions alongside a networking session where we met with a range of people from the firm. Equally everyone was happy to share contact details and be on hand to have conversations and answer questions which was really encouraging as in intern throughout.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We found out about the range of initiatives and sporting teams that the firm has, as well as office networks and international groups that meet regularly and get involved in a range of projects. This showed the firm has lots of opportunities to get involved with exciting firm led programmes and caters for everyone.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would wholly recommend this insight to a friend, and especially someone wanting to know more about the firm, and the wider legal industry. It provided us with exactly that, It was a positive, thoughtful and well run experience and I came out of it with motivation and further clarity.
