About You
It was really enjoyable. The talks on different practice areas were of a high standard and the tasks we were given were challenging but accessible. The social events on 3 of the 5 days made the virtual vacation scheme really fun and showed the human, less serious side to the firm.
I felt valued. Everyone on the scheme took you and your thoughts seriously. They encouraged you to show the best of yourself.
The learning and development team were on hand to answer any questions. My trainee buddy was really helpful and got me involved in some real work which was fascinating.
I learnt a lot during the week. My understanding of commercial law and the different practice areas within it has increased considerably. So has my confidence in high pressure situations - such as the mid-week assessment centre.
The Company
Very well structured, a lot was packed into the week.
It was a very positive and motivating atmosphere. Everyone participating was highly engaged and that meant everyone got a lot out of the scheme.
The firm gave all the placement scheme students a great insight into the firm. I received some useful feedback from my trainee buddy on some work I did for him.
The vac scheme gave me a really good insight into the work the firm does, as well as its strategy, practice strengths and culture. I got a taste of typical trainee work as well which was good.
The social events in particular at the end of the working day gave a great insight into an open and welcoming firm.
I thoroughly enjoyed the scheme and it reaffirmed my ambition to become a commercial lawyer.
Everything Else
Yes there were social events and one on one chats with an associate and trainee.
Relaxed and organic.
Yes there was a significant portion of the week dedicated to D&I and CSR.
Definitely.
