About You
I thoroughly enjoyed this virtual experience! These are unprecedented times and thus, needing to go virtual was not an ideal way to have an internship, but the graduate recruitment team nonetheless fulfilled my initial expectations and beyond. The scheduled events were all insightful and definitely gave me a clearer view of my career aspirations.
I felt extremely valued by the firm based on all the initiatives they took to give us full exposure and an enjoyable time. Not only were various social initiatives taking, but they also gave us a broader view of all the support network available to us.
There was fantastic support available. For example, when I had IT trouble, graduate recruitment was quick to respond. Further, when I had questions about a specific department, I was immediately put in contact with a respective trainee in that department.
I short 5 days, I learnt skills that will remain with me throughout my studies and beyond. I learnt how to better work collaboratively, I learnt how to take initiative, and I learnt how to network. Regarding the information I received, not only was it extremely insightful regarding A&O, but also a general career in international law.
The Company
It was well structured- all the events and meetings were given advance in order to ensure we log in on time. In addition, there were enough events to keep us busy but nonetheless, enough time to allow us to take our own initiatives in meetings as well as to work on our assignments.
The general environment was enjoyable and supportive throughout the virtual scheme.
To a great extent- they never stopped making us feel appreciated and at place.
Significantly, as I was given various opportunities to talk to trainees who had just begun their work and were able to offer insights on the adjustment.
It was extremely helpful. Naturally, nothing virtually can ever replace the effect you would get in person, but it was done to its best ability possible
Incredible- I was presented with opportunties I did not even know were available to me.
Everything Else
They paid us for the entire week for our work, even though it was moved virtually.
There were plenty of opportunities given- not only scheduled but also if further networking was desired.
They were brilliant- it allowed us to ask plenty of questions but. also get a sense for the firm's culture.
Most definitely- I found out about their pro bono work which I am excited to engage in as well as their social initiatives to combat inequality.
I most definitely would- it was an invaluable experience.
