The Role
I very much enjoyed my placement at BAT. The work was challenging but I developed so many skills as a result. The placement scheme has developed me as a professional and I feel a lot more prepared for the world of work. It was a lovely site to work on and all employees have been incredibly helpful and friendly.
As a student I feel really valued by my colleagues and the tasks I was deemed with were of significance to the business.
I have been provided with constant guidance and support throughout my time at BAT. This has been given not just by my direct line manager but many other members of the company.
My schedule varied in terms on number of tasks; I always had something to do though.
I was given a good amount of responsibility. It was challenging but this was a good thing; it enabled me to grow as an individual and take responsibility for projects etc.
The skills and training have been priceless and I will continue to develop these in the years to come. I have grown as an individual and a professional and I cannot thank BAT enough for all they have provided me with.
The Company
Very friendly and upbeat. Positivity and pro-activeness.
Very well organised. Everything was planned and the team were really great in facilitating the success of the students.
They invested a huge amount in my personal development, through the provision of mentors and managers.

Very appealing! I am really keen to stay on at BAT and continue my career.
The Culture
There was a really good social scene amongst the students. We all lived together and regularly met up during the evenings and weekends to do social activities.
Very reasonable.
It's not a bad nightlife scene in Southampton. Plenty of options.
Many opportunities, it is just a case of you being proactive and seeking them out, but there are lots!
