The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at IBM. It was a great first working environment to enter as my team were so welcoming and supportive. I was quick to settle in and quickly got involved with the opportunities available outside my role such as volunteering, projects and communities.
My colleagues were great and I really got on well with them. They worked hard to push me out my comfort zone and help me develop by offering vital feedback.
There is a great support system in IBM, you are assigned an early professional manager who is there to help you through any problems or work stresses.
In my role, I remained busy a lot, which though sometimes could feel slightly tiring - it was important to know that the work I was doing was crucial to my teams success.
You are encouraged to put your own spin on things and innovate in your role, moreover it's your responsibility to organise your work and get involved in new opportunities.
In this role, I have developed some crucial skills: - creative problem solving - strong interpersonal skills - adaptability and flexibility - handling feedback These will be great for my final year at university and future jobs.

It was always fun but also there was time when everyone would knuckle down and get their work done!

The Culture
Everyone is so social and always up to go out and meet up!
London is quite expensive but I knew that when I moved, just something you accept and shouldnt stop you from having fun.
Always fun in London!
Lots of opportunities for external events and projects, not too much for sports but we did organise intern netball which was great.
