About You
It was very positive and very well organised. A great mix of social events and proper work allowed us to see the firm in an accurate light
I felt the lawyers cared about my time at the firm, and the level of feedback showed they had read my work in detail
There was constant support from many avenues, from my supervisor, trainee buddy, the HR team and even more senior lawyers dropping in
They were very transferable skills, such as reporting, publication-writing, drafting, court submissions etc
The Company
Although the quantity of work was high (perhaps too much for a 4-day vac scheme), the quality of work was fascinating so I didn't mind too much
Very positive environment throughout! Everyone was in high spirits and made me feel very welcome
I believe they cared about my development, to the extent where my feedback focused on what the work had intended to teach me, which was very pleasing
The level and quality of work matched the firm's work very closely. This was perhaps the best aspect of the scheme, that I felt like we were being tested on genuine firm skills and work
Very helpful in discovering the firm's culture and the many overviews/presentations we had about the firm helped me to shape a true understanding of how the firm works
The interest I took in the tasks was due to the fact that it attracted me massively to the work of a corporate lawyer, especially at the firm.
Everything Else
The organising team factored in a lot of time for making our own connections with other lawyers, and all the lawyers I contacted were very happy to spare 20/30 mins to chat. Very kind considering their incredibly busy schedules
Although tricky over a virtual environment, I thought they went very well. The social events consisted of a pub quiz and an escape room which were both very enjoyable - well done Grad Rec!
There was ample opportunity for this and, again, the quality and quantity of these opportunities offered to the firm's lawyers was very impressive
Absolutely
