    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Very useful and enjoyable insight into the firm and its work. The work was varied and representative of what a trainee at the firm would complete.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • Very much so. Everyone I spoke with took time out of their day to chat and answer my questions. My supervisor in particular was incredibly supportive.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • I received lots of support during the scheme. I was given practical and actionable feedback on my work which I was able to use moving forward. My supervisor would answer any questions I had as I was going along.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Learnt a lot about the wider legal industry which will assist me if/when I apply for new positions. Received lots of feedback on my work which I've learnt from and will make me a much better candidate in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The scheme worked very well. We were given a pre-joining workshop which was useful. Various talks and workshops throughout the day, as well as social events in the evening, provided some useful structure.

    • Very relaxed non-competitive environment where we were encouraged to build relationships with other scheme-attendees and with others inside the firm.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Lots of time was given to improving the practical skills that each attendee developed. The firm was also interested to see us develop our own personal brand.

    • Very good insight; the work was representative of what a trainee at the firm would be given.

    • Huge focus on the company culture (which is amazing). The group project focused entirely on the culture of the firm and was therefore useful.

    • Very useful experience which affirmed my desire to work at a commercial law firm. Great experience moving forward which will improve my standing as an applicant.

    • The compensation is more than adequate and is in line with other top law firms.

    • Everyone was happy to dedicate time to answering questions and getting to know each other better.

    • Yes, big focus on the trainee business blog (there was actually a competition for blog post submissions)
