    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Warner Bros. I've learned more than I could have hoped and it's reaffirmed that I do want to pursue a career in entertainment. I've widened my network and I've had the best experiences during the year. I'd highly recommend a placement at Warner Bros. and I will look back with the best memories.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was fortunate to work within a diverse team, and a team that values diversity. I worked with people of different backgrounds and nationalities. Everyone is very friendly and respectful - within my immediate team, wider team and with other colleagues around the world. I did feel valued and I'm grateful to have had this experience here.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had an amazing manager. I always knew I had their full support whilst I was given the opportunity to learn and grow professionally, over the course of the year. I was encouraged to ask questions and learn quickly, and I was able to apply what I've learnt when trusted to manage and take lead on projects. I've become more confident - and a better professional overall. I've been able to highlight strengths, focus on areas of improvement and have the best experience. I will certainly refer to the lessons I've learned during my time at Warner Bros. in the future.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the nature of my role: there were times when I was very busy, and others when it was quiet [though, even when quiet, there's always something to do, and opportunities to undertake more work, which I really liked]. This means time can be allocated to independent learning / professional development courses - and university work, specifically placement assignments. I never felt I had nothing to do and I could manage my time effectively when busy. I enjoyed the scope and range of work, and I enjoyed how much I was learning.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I've loved the range and scope of responsibility I was given during my placement. I loved being able to lead on a project from start to finish, and see the results at the end. My confidence to do so significantly increased this year and I'm looking forward to doing so again in the future. I learned a lot about the business, and even more about the industry I worked in more broadly. My manager trusted me to lead campaigns and get them live; and, alongside this, I held many other responsibilities which only complement my experiences, and role. It's inspiring and motivating to know how much value your work has; and I attribute this to my responsibilities.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My university degree directly ties by subject into my placement role; and I'm confident that the skills I have developed this year and the training I've received, will assist me in my degree studies in terms of how I will approach getting things done. I'm able to effectively work under pressure, manage my time, learn multiple things at once quickly, and I'm able speak publicly effectively. My ability to do each has greatly improved in my time at Warner Bros., and I look forward to applying everything I've learned, when I return to university.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office has a great atmosphere. Everyone is very professional, very friendly and the culture overall is great.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement is very well set-up and organised. I've had no issues at all with the placement process here and there are clear practices put in place to ensure Interns experience the most and learn the most during the year.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company did invest in me as training courses and development sessions are highlighted throughout my placement. There are many opportunities to learn and grow, and the sessions themselves were very helpful.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing! I'd certainly love to work at the Studio / in film in the future and prospects within the organisation are clear and known; especially, as former Interns do come back and progress here also.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a great social scene among fellow placement students. Everyone's in the same position and, at the start of the year, connections are made instantly which do continue on into the year. I naturally became closer with the Interns working with my team at the Studio, but I certainly have remained in contacts with others too.
