The Role
I enjoyed my time at Intel very much! It was a great placement where I learnt a great deal about the corporate world, gained many skills, and interacted with many people in a whole range of departments.
Being an Intern at Intel, I felt like I was really valued and appreciated as part of the team. I felt respected and valued by everyone on the team.
Having weekly 1:1s with my supervisor my manager really helped my development and made me feel supported in my role.
I was very busy on a daily basis - especially during the quarter end! But my manager and supervisor ensured that I was coping and keeping on top of everything. If i ever had free time there was always extra projects I could work on too.
Interns at intel are treated as full time employees. Although everyone is aware we are interns, we get a real feel for what it would be like to work for intel full time - which is great!
I have gained so many skills through my internship, to name just a few: teamwork, communication, excel, all office 365 platforms, data analysis, thinking perceptively etc.
The Company
It was a formal and professional work environment, however there was a good friendly office feeling at the same time. Due to COVID-19 we worked from home for the last 5 months of our internship.
Very well organised. Intel have been running placements for years and fully understand that new interns need lots of communications and updates - so this was great and helped me feel welcomed too.
I developed so many skills including data analysis and presentation skills which I attended special extra trainings for that were run by intel. I was also allowed to get some experience in business operations too!

It is very competitive to get a job back at intel. Also, they tend to only hire back into business operations. As I was on a sales internship it is not very likely that I will get hired back.
The Culture
Yes! We had a sports and social committee where socials were run on a weekly basis.
Swindon is a relatively cheap area compared to its surrounding areas of London, Bath, Oxford and Bristol.
There were a couple of good pubs/bars, and we sometimes went to Bath/Bristol too.
There were many committees to help everyone sign up to anything they wanted from charity work or sports teams.
