The Role
I have enjoyed placement since the beginning up until the end. I believe this internship provided me with valuable insight into the company, as well as encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone and try out different things. I would definitely recommend this placement to anyone interested in doing internship in a large company.
I have always felt welcome and accepted - never felt like I was "just an intern". I have been treated fairly just like everyone else.
I have been given an enormous amount of training, support and guidance. Having 1:1 meetings with my manager every week (at first) and then every other week ensured I was given the support needed. I also had assigned "Buddy" in my team, who was there for me not only when I struggled with work but in general. During my assignments, I always had a person I could ask a question to and never felt like I had no one to help me.
Overall, I have been relatively busy. Due to the type of role I had (BA), there's been days where the work was quieter and days where I had to work more than usually and quite often after hours - this is due to meetings with teams from different time zones. However, whenever I worked longer, I could take that time back at any day I preferred without any problems, so I think the balance was just right.
I was given quite a good amount of responsibility - I have been involved in multiple of projects and committees - being a head of one of them. I believe you can get involved and be given as much or as little responsibility as you'd like - depending on your abilities.
Intel allowed me to develop multiple skills - both soft and technical. I had time to shadow more of data analysis projects and do a lot of extracurricular training that will benefit me in the future. Intel provides a huge amount of trainings.
The Company
Atmosphere in the office was amazing - there is a canteen where you can see other interns during lunch and go for coffee breaks. Intel treats everyone equal so you can also approach anyone without stressing about it. There is also ping pong on the site and some games, as well as exercises organised during the breaks.
Placement has been organised pretty well with a nice structure - there's been multiple project I have had a chance to work on.
There has been chance to go for trainings and other events outside of the company, but due to COVID-19 this unfortunately was called off, so unfortunately can't tell much about outside of the company trainings. In terms of trainings and development inside the company, It's been well structured and there's been many opportunities to take on additional trainings.

Intel is a great company to work for - however the city is not ideal so you need to decide on what's more important for you.
The Culture
The socials were amazing :)
Swindon is pretty cheap.
Swindon is not the ideal place for students, but with all the interns it was always fun even though there was not many places to go to.
Not too many
