The Role
A very useful and helpful company that gave me everything I wanted out of a placement and more.
My team treated me like an equal and I had a great experience but being a global team and working in different timezones made it really difficult.
I was given a lot of support from my manager and I was never scared to be honest or to try new things. My manager always went above and beyond to get me resources and connections I needed.
Depending on the projects I was working on my schedule varied. There were days that were slow and there were days where I was in back to back meetings or had a lot of work to do.
I got the opportunity to lead a project as well as work as a part of multiple other ones.
This year has helped me learn a lot for my degree and help me to apply my knowledge to my projects next year.
The Company
In the UK office there wasn't many events that everyone got involved with. Most people worked from home even before lockdown so it was mostly empty.
There was a lot of re-organisation in Pfizer before the placement started so my manager changed and wasn't too aware of the scheme as he's based in New York.
They made sure I had all the equipment I needed plus anything I requested. I felt like I was well looked after and received all the necessary training, as well as the mental and physical support that's available in the office.

Working from home
The graduate scheme is limited to only marketing and sales but there's always the opportunity to apply for a job after graduating. If you impress your team they may offer you a part time job in your final year and a job after you graduate but there is no guarantee.
The Culture
Personally no as I didn't live with other placement students but if that's important to you then I suggest getting more involved and trying to live with others. There were 60+ placement students so you're definitely not alone.
It can be a bit expensive as the areas around the workplace aren't cheap but there are free buses to work from certain areas.
Unsure
The biggest opportunity is to become a STEM ambassador. Other than that it depends on you. If you want to get involved then the opportunity is available but it will not be handed to you on a plate.
