The Role
I have loved my year at Pfizer. I have really enjoyed learning about all the different functions in the pharmaceutical industry as well as strengthen my passion for biomedical science.
During my placement I felt complete valued by my colleagues and have developed effective professional relationships within my cross functional team. I know that my views and opinions are valued as much as another team members.
Pfizer has offered a lot of guidance and support throughout my year. I received a lot of onboarding training at the start of my placement as well as training sessions throughout the year, on soft skills such as presentation skill and project management. My manager has also been amazing, always available for a quick call to talk though any of my projects, even through the COVID 19 situation.
During my placement I was able to take on multiple projects as the project lead. T his allowed me to take complete control as well as manage people from other departments.
I have developed a lot of transferable skills that will help me back at university and beyond. - Project management: Leading a project, managing other people and working towards a deadline - Discipline: Being responsible for my work and meeting the expectations of my team - Relator: Forming close professional relationships and find deep satisfaction in working within a team to achieve the common goal
The Company

Very appealing, I am extremely interested in future employment within Pfizer.
The Culture
Yes, the benefit of this placement was the number of other placement students. This gave us the perfect mix of professional experiences during the week and a more student vibe during the weekends.
In the closest towns there are a couple of pubs and restaurants however, you are a 35 minute train from London which offers a lot of different options for nightlife.
Yes Pfizer offered a couple of extra-curricular activities such as a running club and gym classes. There is also a couple of sports leagues in the nearby towns with football and netball teams.
