About You
Running the virtual experience has been fantastic. It has been great to get a feeling for NatWest Group, and also understand more about our specific programmes. I have particularly enjoyed how members of departments have been more than willing to have 'virtual coffee sessions' and phone calls to discuss their job roles. I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
It has been great to connect with so many people in the business. From senior professionals to our graduate buddies, everyone has been more than willing to connect, answer questions and discuss their experiences. My graduate buddies have connect me with many professionals to help me gain a better experience of the business. I have also connected with many people on LinkedIn who were also more than willing to connect and have a chat.
The guidance from my 2 graduate buddies has been fantastic. They have supported me to find emails or numbers of people who could answer my questions or tell me more about their experiences, which has been a fantastic opportunity. Especially in the current climate, it has been great to receive so much guidance and support through virtual mediums.
The internship has helped improve my proficiency with Zoom and helped me familiarise myself with virtual working. It was strange to start with, but it has helped me improve my confidence using technology and connect with people both personally and professionally through virtual means.
The Company
The internship has been really well-structured. I have enjoyed learning more about my specific department and also having bigger sessions with seniors professionals in the bank. With the nature of the big sessions, I was sometimes not able to ask my question, but each time I was able to submit a question after the presentation, which was a fantastic opportunity to still engage with the session.
It has been great. Everyone has been really positive and excited to help. Additionally, I have really enjoyed the virtual socials such as the escape rooms which I really enjoyed. It was also great to undertake charity events, even though we are all in different parts of the world, it has been fantastic to engage with other interns from various business areas!
I really appreciate the fact that NatWest Group went ahead with the internship. I feel the company has invested everything in us to help assist our development and support us to our full potential. It has been great to get a better idea of my department, and understand the opportunities.
Having a virtual experience has still helped me to understand the culture of the business and the opportunities that are available to graduates. It has been really insightful to have conversations with people from a multitude of different roles. The way the business has accepted the interns and run such a comprehensive programme, has been amazing and demonstrates their commitment to development to full-time colleagues.
It really helped me to understand the company culture. Even though it has all been virtual, NatWest's commitment to development has demonstrated how committed the business is to becoming a purpose-led organisation. The business' positive and inclusive culture has been apparent in every Zoom, phone call and 'virtual coffee catch-up' I have had.
This has been incredibly insightful for helping me decide my future careers path. It has reaffirmed my choice of business area, and also my wish to work for NatWest Group. I have had a great internship which has taught me more, and further supported my development.
Everything Else
We were paid as if we had been able to go to the office for the full 10-week internship, which was absolutely fantastic.
It has been great to have the opportunity to connect with so many people, whether it be across Zoom, the phone, email or LinkedIn. Everyone has been more than willing to take the time to have a chat and just discuss how everything is going and more specifically, discuss their roles and experiences.
The networking has been fantastic, as mentioned previously. The social events have been great. My personal favourite was the Virtual Escape Room. Having the opportunity to run charity events has been great and really enjoyable. Its great we have had the same opportunities virtually as we would have if we were in the office!
I have been connect to numerous people to discuss the opportunities for charity work and also work within the community. I have particularly been interested in MoneySense and going into schools to help children get a better understanding of money. I have been connected to multiple people who have been involved in this initiative.
Absolutely. The experience has been fantastic and I have loved the opportunities it has presented to me.
