About You
It was highly engaging and better than anticipated. The event was engaging and had multiple sections throughout the day, with divisions ranging from Investment Banking to Equity, Sales and Trading and research. As someone from a non-finance background it was very straightforward and engaging.
Coming from a diverse background; from being a female to an ethnic minority and even from a non-target university I felt that the event catered around people like myself. Hearing about their insights and accomplishments, as well as dedication to diversity and inclusion made me feel valued.
Throughout the experience we were given the opportunity to ask questions, and even given an outline of the programme which was great to refer back to regarding how to get the best out of the experience.
I felt like I was more open-minded to a career in this field, as well as developing my analytical skills from the various graphs and tables we were shown. It was great to be recommended various resources which I have researched and will continue to use.
The Company
It was well structured, with an outline of the day provided beforehand. Of course, being virtual some things were to be expected regarding technical errors, but it was mainly very smoothsailing.
Great atmosphere, felt like the team was tight knit and I could grasp a sense of the entrepreneurial spirit. I do wish there was more time for participation from attendees but given there was 300+ it's understandable.
Doing this event in itself was investing in people like me. By actively looking for diverse participants is increasingly important, so I appreciate their collaboration with organisations like SEO London.
It was very insightful, by hearing insights of current employees, especially recent graduates helps to put things into perspective.
Surprisingly, I felt it was quite inclusive and I understood the culture from this experience.
It was quite valuable, and made me think about equity as a viable career path as I initially brushed it aside and didn't think about it.
