  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • It was an incredibly interesting and engaging experience and I learnt a huge amount over a short period.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Throughout the virtual program I was continuously asked how I was finding it and was always offered support and guidance. I did not feel like an intern at all and instead felt part of the team from day one. It was incredibly uplifting to be treated like this.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • Considering the last minute change to a virtual experience, the efforts to ensure I received as much support as possible was outstanding. It was very reassuring to know that there would always be someone to support me if I needed it.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Being able to have conversations with team members at the top of their field was incredibly rewarding and allowed me to gain a great understanding of the sector. Hearing about their experiences has allowed me to gain a much clearer understanding of how to develop my skill set and improve my overall employability. The information I received has allowed me to focus my career ambitions.

  • 5. How well structured was the virtual experience?
  • Incredibly well structured and well organised. Very quick and concise information was provided when needed and replies to any questions were answered almost immediately. The classes/sessions were very interesting and covered a huge range of information, skill development and self improvement.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your virtual experience?
  • I was fairly nervous at the beginning, especially being on a zoom call with so many people I did not know. However the atmosphere was very friendly and engaging and I quickly settled in.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The presentations and teach-in classes held were very engaging and interesting and it was clear Natwest were investing heavily in us.

  • 8. To what extent did the virtual experience help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • A virtual program is always going to be more difficult for understanding and experiencing the full time role, however, the sessions during week 2 allowed me to fully understand what a full time role would entail and the presentations were very open and honest and gave a very detailed descriptions of each role.

  • The company culture was very clear from the start and was maintained throughout the experience.

  • Considering the last minute change to a virtual experience, I found the experience incredibly informative and allowed me to gain a huge understanding of how I want to develop my career.

  • I was paid the full amount that I would have been if the experience was not made virtual.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Personally I thought the opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company was what stood out for me. I was able to speak to members of all departments and have one on one conversations to ask any questions. For me this was the best thing about the program and I felt very fortunate to have such an engaging networking experience.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The one on one opportunities were incredibly rewarding and I felt I was always able to ask any question. Considering this was an online experience I was very impressed with how the social events were organised.

  • Yes this was made clear and I also made sure to take part in the activities that were available during my time on the program.
