About You
I completed a virtual vacation scheme with Linklaters. I absolutely loved the experience. Linklaters was very supportive and gave a great insight into their firm and the work they are doing. Everyone made time to have a chat about their practice area and I am convinced that I was able to really understand what it will be like working as a trainee for Linklaters.
I feel that I was able to understand very well which practice area I am mostly interested in and whether I prefer transnational or litigation work. I was able to understand the work a commercial law firm is doing and gained a real insight into the day to day work of a trainee solicitor.
We received a great amount of guidance. Everyone I asked questions took the time to answer them and to help make the vacation scheme as informative as possible. I was very impressed by the level of support given, even in a virtual environment.
It will help me to a great extent as I was able to understand the work of a trainee solicitor in more detail. I was also able to gain an insight into the different practice areas Linklaters covers and I now know which of those I am mostly interested in.
The Company
The experience was very well structured. We had presentations, tasks, social meetings and in between we had time to network and meet people across the firm.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and everyone was genuinely excited to have the vacation scheme students at the firm virtually. The atmosphere between everyone attending the scheme was great as well and I feel like I got to know everyone on the scheme, which I wasn't sure about because of the virtual nature.
Linklaters invested a lot in the vacation scheme. They put a lot of effort into organising the scheme in a way that we were able to experience the firm, culture and work they do almost as if we were at the firm in person. We had a lot of support in checking that we received the information we needed and that we were able to get the best out of the vacation scheme
I am convinced that I was able to gain a real insight into the work of a trainee solicitor at Linklaters as well as what my career progression would look like.
I was able to understand the company culture very well. I appreciate how collaborative everyone at Linklaters works and I felt very welcomed in the firm.
The experience helped me to understand even more that Linklaters is the firm I want to work with in the future.
Everything Else
We had time in between the scheduled sessions to network and everyone I asked to meet for a virtual coffee made the time to meet with me, which really impressed me.
The networking as well as the social events were great. I was able to get to know the firm as well as people on the vacation scheme
We had a very informative presentation about what employees of Linklaters can get involved in.
I would absolutely recommend the vacation scheme at Linklaters
